Our friends at Dial H will present some awesome team-building ideas each week leading up to WizKids Worlds! Here is a note from them:

The Mad Titan returns to play this week, along with his greatest foes, The Avengers! In addition, we’ll also take a look at the massive power of the Justice League, and a return of the popular build style in Point Denial. World’s is kicking off with Pulp on day one, so you better be ready for it!

Theme – Cosmic

“Fine. I’ll do it myself.”

With the recent errata allowing Thanos to start the game with every Gem equipped, he becomes a massive force to be reckoned with. Each Gem will give Thanos a different power or ability and a +1 to various combat values, making him a natural 11 speed, 14 attack, 20 defense, and six damage piece! Now THAT is a Thanos! On top of all the buffs and additional powers, Thanos will also be able to trigger the on hit effect of each Gem when he rolls a 10 or higher, making for some huge swings in tempo when he does so. To help him accomplish that, Q prime also makes this build with the ability to replace a single die in an attack or Super Sense roll from his card. Behind Q there’s Collector, who grants access to Perplex and a bonus +1 damage for all figures on this force from the trait, THERE’S PLENTY MORE WE CAN PLAY WITH. Finishing out the build is Star Sapphire, who adds a great amount of utility to the build with the ability to generate constructs and use of Telekinesis for positioning.

Theme – Justice League

This Justice League theme comes in packing a punch, with lots of cool tricks to control tempo and deal massive damage. Starting off the build is the classic combo of Flash with the Team Player Team Ability, copying the Green Lantern Team Ability from prime Batman. This will allow the entire force to be carried by Flash, getting them across the map and repositioned with Cloak of Levitation. After this carry, Superman, equipped with the Influence Ring, will be able to knockback characters as FREE, triggering a trait which allows him to attack as FREE. Wonder Woman can also utilize the Shifting Focus ability for both herself and equipment, allowing for two massive, multi-target FREE Incapacitates with the Lasso of Truth. In addition, opposing characters will also modify defense -1 for each action token they have from Wonder Woman’s trait, I WILL HOLD THEM. Rounding out the alpha strike portion of the build is the duo who’s made waves in Modern play, World’s Finest. Equipped with All-Black the Necrosword, they’ll make sure your opponent feels the damage that this figure can dish. Lastly, Fulcum Abominus waits for his time to retaliate when your opponent inevitably has to strike back.

Pulp – Avengers

Can one of the quintessential hero teams, The Avengers, make its claim in Pulp? This team strikes out strong with Scarlet Witch being able to get the main attackers into battle via carrying or Telekinesis. Party Thor can help lock down and damage teams, while Hawkeye can take shots safely from range. Wanda Maximoff provides a much-needed Probability Control, as well as a top dial 19 Defend. Bats and Ant-Man fill the support role while being easy to move around. Finally, rounding out the team is Wasp, that allows the team to take losses and keep fighting back. Sure, points will be lost, but bringing in sideline Avengers mid-game can swing the battle in their favor with either lock down options, close attackers, or additional support powers.

Pulp – Don’t Die Tech

This team is all about healing and being hard to KO. With Pulse Wave being so popular in Pulp, characters that can soak up two or more damage and heal can be very valuable. So let’s jump into the sewer with our main attacker: The Lizard! He’s got a deep nine click dial and the Swim ability to keep him safe from ranged attacks when he occupies Water terrain. In addition, he has traited Regeneration, and the Rally ability will allow him to use it as a FREE action. He’ll also stay in the fight regardless of tokens with the ability to make FREE attacks via the trait, TAIL WHIP. Blade comes in as a secondary attacker who will load up with as many Rally dice as possible. The Protected: Pulse Wave Rally ability will have your opponent ice skating uphill trying to KO him! For more sustain, Watcher provides a great array of support powers and can move to any point in his dial as FREE, also making him harder to KO. Bodyguarding the force is Clayface, who will make for an excellent tie up with full dial Plasticity and Protected: Outwit Shape Change. Following that same line of bodyguarding are Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy, who aren’t scored when they are KO’d, but instead replaced by pieces from the sideline. Aunt May and Moloid cap off the build with some access to Support and Empower for when you need to heal more or deal more!
