After sharing information about events at Origins Game Fair 2026, we got a lot of feedback regarding the impact of a particular piece, Knull, within the Team Sealed format. 

The HeroClix team has decided to implement the following policy: 

Any team that opens a Knull during the Team Sealed event should call a judge. The judge will verify the contents of their brick, then the players will receive a random mini of the same rarity to play with during the event, instead of their Knull. That team will get to keep the Knull figure and the random mini for use after the event. 

The HeroClix team strives for players to have the most fun, especially at events like Origins, and this change accomplishes that goal.

The team underestimated the impact that Knull would have on head-to-head sealed play. Knull's presence could exert too much influence over match outcomes, despite only 1 of 3 team members having the chance to play against Knull. Our goal is for the community to enjoy a competitive environment that can be fun for all HeroClix players. While there might be factors that could mitigate Knull's prevalence, the team does not believe they are sufficient to keep him in the format when there is a reasonable solution available. 

Moving forward, additional care will go into the available boosters and bricks to help promote a fun Team Sealed environment. The HeroClix team has a deep love for sealed play, and we want to make sure that it continues to improve over time, just like our constructed formats.
