The HeroClix team and our trusted Silver Age partners have been hard at work analyzing tournament results, as well as feedback from players. With all that information, we’re announcing several changes to the Silver Age Banned and Restricted lists. For a full explanation of Silver Age, check out this page.

Temporary Ban List

The Temporary Ban list serves to isolate characters that might be too powerful in Silver currently, but as the metagame changes, we expect to be able to release them in the future. The changes to the Temporary Ban List is as follows:

Restricted List

The Restricted List collects those game elements that might not be problematic on their own, but can enable damaging synergies. A force can only use a Restricted List element, keeping them from overwhelming the format. The changes to the Restricted List are as follows:

Ban List

The game elements on the Ban List are those that the WizKids team has decided cannot be allowed in Silver, and we do not expect that to change. Elements on the Ban List are either uniquely powerful or enable infinite loops or other synergies too potent for the Restricted List.

Map List

An additional rule is being added to Silver Age regarding maps. Any map text other than Location Bonuses is ignored for Silver Age events. Any colored terrain related to map text (such as orange or pink) is treated as clear terrain if it is not also marked as another terrain type. For example, a terrain both marked as blue (water) and orange (special) is still water terrain.

Our goal with these changes is to foster Silver Age as a fun, competitive format for casual fans and tournament-goers alike. We reserve the right to make emergency changes to the Banned and Restricted lists to preserve the health of the game if needed.
