Hello HeroClix Masterminds,

The HeroClix Watch List is a process by which we identify figures and/or other game elements that we believe may negatively impact the game of HeroClix. As noted in THIS ARTICLE, the Watch List will be moving to a quarterly format. Roughly every three months the WizKids team will release a batch of errata and bans, or an update stating that that no changes are being made that quarter. As we move to this model, we are also moving to a “one-step” announcement process. Rather than splitting each Watch List into both “figures being looked at” and a “answers to those figures” announcements, each Watch List will skip straight to announcing the results of the team’s ongoing monitoring of the HeroClix metagame. If needed, we may make emergency announcements outside of the Watch Lists. We are constantly evaluating every game element and its effect on the game of HeroClix, and we reserve the right to announce changes to any at any time that we deem necessary.

Below are the results of the Q2 2026 Watch List. All changes are effective in all formats and are effective immediately. Errata issued to game elements will be added to the WIN, visible HERE.

S&D L17-002 Spirit of Vengeance Red Hulk

Result: The damage special “WE DESIRE ONE THINNG. VEGNEANCE” is errata’d as follows:

Old: STOP. Spirit of Vengeance Red Hulk can’t heal. // When this click is revealed, after resolutions Spirit of Vengeance Red Hulk may generate one of the characters chosen for his Pilot trait on its last non-KO click. This game, the generated character can’t heal or be replaced, and if it would take damage, instead remove it from the game without scoring it and deal Spirit of Vengeance Red Hulk 1 unavoidable damage.

New: STOP. Spirit of Vengeance Red Hulk can’t heal. // When this click is revealed by damage from an opposing effect, after resolutions Spirit of Vengeance Red Hulk may generate one of the characters chosen for his Pilot trait on its last non-KO click. This game, the generated character can’t heal or be replaced, and if it would take damage, instead remove it from the game without scoring it and deal Spirit of Vengeance Red Hulk 1 unavoidable damage.

MSV 051 Spider-Man

Result: The defense special “I WISH THANOS NEVER GOT THE INFINITY GEMS” is errata’d as follows:

Old: STOP. Super Senses. // When this click is revealed, after resolutions remove all equipment (on the map or equipped) and all game elements on Sidelines from the game, then end the durations of any effects created by the removed Sideline elements. Game elements removed from Sidelines this way only score points paid to add them to a Sideline. // Spider-Man can’t be healed above this click.

New: STOP. Super Senses. // When this click is revealed by damage from an opposing effect, after resolutions remove all equipment (on the map or equipped) and all game elements on Sidelines from the game, then end the durations of any effects created by the removed Sideline elements. Game elements removed from Sidelines this way only score points paid to add them to a Sideline. // Spider-Man can’t be healed above this click.

STR 057 Loki, Sorcerer Supreme

Result: The defense special “EXILE OF SINGHSOON” is errata’d as follows:

Old: STOP. Super Senses. // Once per game when this click is revealed, after resolutions choose one.

  • This game, other characters can’t use team abilities or special powers.
  • This game, friendly characters have [MYSTICS TEAM ABILITY] and once per turn Loki, Sorcerer Supreme may reroll any roll.

New: STOP. Super Senses. // Once per game when this click is revealed by damage from an opposing effect, after resolutions choose one.

  • This game, other characters can’t use team abilities or special powers.
  • This game, friendly characters have [MYSTICS TEAM ABILITY] and once per turn Loki, Sorcerer Supreme may reroll any roll.

VNM 050b Venom

Result: The trait “THE SINISTER TWELVE” is errata’d as follows:

Old: When a friendly character with the Sinister Syndicate keyword is KO’d (including Venom), after resolutions you may generate a character with the Sinister Syndicate keyword from your Sideline on its last non-KO click adjacent to an opposing character. This game the generated character isn’t scored when KO’d. Protected: Pulse Wave.

New: When a standard friendly character with the Sinister Syndicate keyword is KO’d by damage from an opposing effect (including Venom), after resolutions you may generate a character with the Sinister Syndicate keyword from your Sideline on its last non-KO click adjacent to an opposing character. This game the generated character isn’t scored when KO’d. Protected: Pulse Wave.

Explanation: Red Hulk, Spider-Man, Venom, and Loki are all receiving similar errata, and for similar reasons. Each grants potent effects as your force takes damage, potentially allowing you to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. In practice, many teams were instead building ways to self-damage these characters to get the effects early in the game, under circumstances they could fully control. While the degree to which each of these concerned the team differed, we decided it was best if they all received similar errata together.

STR LG001b Tri-Sentinel

Result: The speed special “ENCHANTED GRAPPLE CABLES” is errata’d as follows:

Old: Plasticity, Sidestep. // Once per turn when an opposing character within range is given a FREE action, after resolutions you may deal that character 1 penetrating damage.

New: Plasticity, Sidestep. // Once per turn for all characters with this power, when an opposing character within range is given a FREE action, after resolutions you may deal that character 1 penetrating damage.

Explanation: Tri-Sentinel is a figure we’ve heard extensive fan comment on, with players concerned that the Enchanted Grapple Cables special would make Tri-Sentinel oppressive if ran in large numbers. While we haven’t seen this in practice yet, the WizKids team did determine that this was a likely enough outcome, so with this errata we’re removing much of the incentive to run a Tri-Sentinel squad.

DPV-b001 Copycat

Result: The trait “METAMORPH” is errata’d as follows:

Old: Copycat can use standard powers other characters within range can use.

New: Copycat can use standard powers adjacent characters can use.

Explanation: Like Tri-Sentinel, Copycat is a figure we’ve heard a lot of fan feedback on. While some of that was concerns about Copycat’s power level, much of it simply said that Copycat was unfun to both play or play against; tracking her powers was more effort than is enjoyable. With this errata we’re toning her down to a level that we believe will make her easier to keep track of in-game.

MVSS25-OS001 Halt Mutant

Result: Banned in all formats.

STR OS002 Crimson Bands of Cytorrak

Result: Banned in all formats.

Explanation: Early in the design of One-Shots, the team concepted them as a way to answer a common fan request of getting more turns into each game of HeroClix. Special attention was paid to tuning up defensive One-Shots, so that players could enact temporary defenses to protect their teams as they got into the fight. However, some of those effects overshot the mark and made it frustrating to engage. These two One-Shots are especially notorious for that, and so we are removing them from the metagame.

While we strive to avoid making changes to figures after they have been released, if possible, our ultimate goal is to have a fun, friendly, and healthy game paired with a positive gameplay experience for both our casual and tournament players. We do reserve the right to revisit and make changes to any game elements highlighted in previous Watch Lists, especially as new game elements are released. Thank you to our players and play testers for providing your feedback on how we can further improve the game of HeroClix.
