We know many of you are eagerly preparing for the upcoming World Championship in Memphis this coming week. We're genuinely looking forward to seeing you all for an action-packed event full of games, energy, and excitement!
We are aware of a recent gameplay ruling and take the feedback and responses we received about it seriously. The HeroClix team reviewed the situation and considered all options before coming to our final decision. In the interest of fun and fairness, we are maintaining the ruling as determined on the WIN and moving forward with it for all future events, including Worlds 2025.
Summary of the ruling:
"If a multi-base character is holding a special object, it is considered to occupy all the squares the multi-base character occupies. Therefore, a multi-base character would not be considered adjacent to the special object it is holding."
This decision will affect the strategies of some players, and we acknowledge that the timing for this announcement is less than ideal. When in doubt, the only official source for rulings is the HeroClix Rules Forum. We have the utmost faith in our judges to make the best rulings in the moment for the events they oversee, however rulings issued at events are not meant to be applied outside of those events. Moving forward we are taking measures to communicate rulings in a timely fashion to the community, and to avoid changes where possible this close to an event. Fair play and clarity on rules interaction is important, but so is having a stable environment to prepare for an event.
We appreciate your understanding, and as part of the Worlds 2025 experience, we will now be including an additional promo figure for participants in the World Championship main event.
