Greetings HeroClix Masterminds!
We have two quick updates for you today! First up, the Watch List.
For those new fans in the audience, the HeroClix Rules Team periodically releases a Watch List detailing those game elements that are having a concerning effect on the metagame. Once a Watch List is issued, the Rules Team begins a review of the game elements on it, and within a few weeks, issues any errata to them that may be needed.
Currently, the Rules Team doesn’t believe a Watch List needs to be issued. With that said, they will be closely monitoring play at the US Nationals at Origins and collecting data from that event. We are also aware of fan concerns about certain figures, such as Betelgeuse and Spirit of Vengeance Red Hulk, and we will be paying them extra attention. If they feel anything needs correction following that event, we will be issuing errata to them without the usual warning of a Watch List. We’ll be announcing the Rules Team’s conclusions on July 3, whether that’s “No changes needed” or a list of errata.
Secondly, we’ll be adding a limitation to all Sealed games held at Origins, both standard Sealed and Battle Royales. At these events, the 031b Destroyer from Smash and Destroy can only be played at its 150 point line. While this figure has plenty of answers in Constructed formats, it has been demonstrated to be unexpectedly potent in Sealed formats when played at its full dial. For this reason, we are limiting its play in Sealed events to its lower, 150 point line.
