Greetings, HeroClix Masterminds!
We recently updated the HeroClix Comprehensive Rulebook and wanted to ensure you knew all about it! Here is a breakdown of the changes we made:
- 2.4a – Clarified how Unique applies to non-character game elements
- 4.3 – During Set-Up, both players now place characters before terrain is placed.
- 10.9 – Clarification of “Before Moving” effects
- 13.2 – Rule of Occupancy clarification
- 14.2/12.4d – First Turn Immunity now blocks unavoidable damage. (Unavoidable damage still gets through other sources of Immune.)
- 16.7a – Clarification of how terrain markers interact with the transition squares created by elevated terrain markers during Set-Up
- 25.7 – Updated Tarot rules
- 25.10 – Special Dice Rules added
- Various typographical errors were corrected.

Secondly, some of our fans have brought an unintended rules interaction regarding the Pilot trait to our attention. As this interaction can lead to an unfun game state, we are issuing an errata to all characters with the Pilot trait effective immediately. This errata only changes the last line of the Pilot trait, and has no impact on how the majority of figures interact with the Pilot trait.
BEFORE:
…This game that character can’t be healed or replaced, and isn’t scored when KO’d. Protected: Pulse Wave.
AFTER:
…This game that character can’t be healed or replaced, and is removed from the game without being scored if it would take damage. Protected: Pulse Wave.
