Greetings HeroClix fans, and welcome to another look into the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles HeroClix: Heroes in a Half Shell set! Today, we’re looking at one of the most popular characters from the 1987 animated series – the hockey mask wearing vigilante, Casey Jones!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles HeroClix: Heroes in a Half Shell - Casey Jones

Casey Jones is a 5-click, 60-point piece, with a range of 5 squares and one target. He’s a pure fighter, comfortable up close with a hockey stick, or at range by hitting a baseball or puck at an opponent, which is where his Martial Artist keyword comes from. His TMNT Ally keyword needs no introduction, as Casey is one of the most stalwart friends of the Turtles, fighting by their side against the Foot Clan and invaders from Dimension X!

From a power perspective, Casey Jones can also be used either from range or up close. He’s designed to stick and move, with a full dial of Sidestep, allowing him to move up to two squares as a free action – or, if he’s tied up to an opposing character, allowing him a free breakaway attempt. Defensively, he alternates between Energy Shield/Deflection and Combat Reflexes, showing his aptitude at defending himself from attacks from either range or close combat attacks. To demonstrate Casey’s typical…hardheadedness, he closes with a click of Willpower – showing that he’s not going to give up, and will keep pushing to fight to the very end.

He has only one special power, but it encompasses his entire dial on his damage track. Called Body Check or Slapshot?, this power requires you to give Casey Jones a free action, which in turn allows him to choose Close Combat Expert or Ranged Combat Expert. Even better, Casey can use this power until you choose again – so if you know you’re going to be wading into a horde of Foot Ninja’s, you can stick with Close Combat Expert, or you can keep Casey on the fringe of the fight, allowing him to pick enemies off from a distance. He’s a versatile piece designed to support your squad as a secondary attacker, and is dangerous enough for your opponent pause and give a second thought about which character to focus on.
