Be the first to strike at the Dominion and the Jem’Hadar with the I.R.W. Belak in the new Star Trek: Attack Wing Blind Booster Pack.

This October, Star Trek : Attack Wing Organized Play Events will feature a series of ten blind reinforcement boosters to be used during events held over the next year. To prepare you for what you will find inside these blind boosters, let’s take an in depth look at the ships, continuing with the Romulan D’Deridex class ship, I.R.W. Belak.

The I.R.W. Belak proudly served the Romulan Empire during the Battle of the Omarian Nebula, where a small fleet of Tal Shiar and Obsidian ordered ships to attack the first founders’ homeworld. The I.R.W. Belak is a D’Deridex class ship that was modified to enhance the ship’s cloaking abilities to help avoid detection by the Dominion. The I.R.W. Belak has one extra shield compared to a standard D’Deridex class ship; it also has Evade, Target Lock, Cloak and Sensor Echo Actions available on its action bar. As a special ability, the I.R.W. Belak allows you to reroll 1 of your Battle Stations results. When you are cloaked however, you may reroll all of your Battle Stations results. Lovok, a powerful member of the Tal Shiar, is the Captain of the I.R.W Belak. Using his vast influence to alter the course of battle, Lovok allows you to re-roll all of your blank results while attacking. Even though, Lovok lacks an Elite Talent Upgrade slot, he gives you the ability to use the Tal Shiar Elite Talent Upgrade. As the intelligence agency of the Romulan Empire, it seems fitting that the Tal Shiar Elite Talent Upgrade allows you to target and look at another ship’s maneuver dial during the planning phase, and then place a Battle Stations Token beside your ship.

To keep things balanced most ships in the blind reinforcement booster packs come with one Elite Talent, one Crew Upgrade, one Tech Upgrade and one Weapon Upgrade. Tallera the Romulan mercenary, is the Crew Upgrade in this blind booster. Tallera allows a player to take an action to target a ship at Range 1-2 and then roll 1 attack die. If you roll a Hit or Critical Hit result you discard this card and 1 Crew Upgrade on the target ship. Tallera is the perfect agent for the Tal Shiar, a silent infiltrator who can get on an enemy’s ship and discard troublesome crew. The best part is that if she fails in her mission, she remains on your ship to try again. The Romulans, best known for their technological prowess, bring us the Modified Cloaking Device as a Tech Upgrade in this pack. Whenever you perform a Cloak Action, your ship can only be target locked by a ship that is within Range 1 of your ship. You can also roll your full defense dice, despite an opposing ship’s Scan Token while you are cloaked. The Weapon Upgrade for the Romulan blind booster pack, Aft Disruptor Emitters, allows you to fire at a ship that is not in your forward firing arc. This upgrade allows you to make sure that any enemy ships that slip behind you can also be targeted.

Players will enjoy this blind booster, because it expands on the Romulan Faction with new upgrades and provides powerful options for fleet building in the future. Specifically, the new translucent sculpt will make players want to collect this blind booster for the model alone. Additionally, Modified Cloaking Device is an upgrade that any cloaking ship will want to consider, as well as Aft Disruptor Emitters for those times when the enemy escapes your forward firing arc. This Romulan blind booster pack is all about secrecy and infiltration. Using information gathered by the Tal Shiar and your own imagination, the I.R.W. Belak will catch your opponents by surprise and bring victory to the Romulan Empire!
