Organized Play Associate (Contract)

Hillside, NJ

The Organized Play Associate will assist with the creation and execution of programs and marketing materials which promote WizKids’s gaming and events. This includes HeroClix, D&D Onslaught, Star Trek Into the Unknown, and board game organized play.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with team on creating and implementing tools for the Organized Play program.
    • Create/maintain tournament guidelines and rules.
    • Assemble tournament kits and components.
    • Design and implement prizing structures.
  • Lead in management of key organized play initiatives and ongoing programs, working closely with product teams and logistics to improve outcomes.
  • Develop tournament kits for use in retail locations.
  • Communicate internally and externally about WizKids Organized Play, including aspects of the WizKids Information Network.
  • Utilize inventory assets to bolster Organized Play.
  • Maintain schedule of organized play releases and events.
  • Organize and run game tournaments, including with domestic and international partners.
  • Aid marketing team in promoting organized play program, events, and tournaments by communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify new organized play opportunities.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management.

Position Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate through accurate spreadsheets explaining event needs.
  • 2+ years of administrative experience preferred.
  • Core hobby gaming knowledge preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent organization and multitasking skills.
  • Must be able to work on projects on multiple time-horizons at once.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong collaboration skills across the organization.
  • Learns and adapts to file management best practices.
  • Product knowledge preferred.

Additional Notes:

  • Proximity to NJ or NC office preferred. Remote position, dependent on location (high-speed internet and office space conducive to remote calls required).
  • The contractor is responsible for providing their own equipment (laptop) and software (MS Office).
  • Corporate monthly travel may be required, including international travel (candidate must have valid passport).
