As you venture through fields harvested by the walking dead, you may encounter terrifying beings still haunted by the past…

Check out the third of six new box sets that support the upcoming release of Impossible Lands this November: Pathfinder Battles: Impossible Lands – Impossible Foes. Creatures featured in this set showcase a variety of iconic beings which include:

Eunemvro (Bestiary 3):
Eunemvros wander the Material Plane with the sole purpose of destroying undead. Beings composed or animated by negative energy rightly fear confrontation with a eunemvro, for few other creatures possess innate abilities so perfectly suited for the eradication of such monsters with but a touch.

Nosferatu Malefactor (Bestiary 3):
Among the most ancient of vampires are the nosferatus, twisted remnants of mortals who died in great plagues of old. Perhaps because of their age, nosferatus can no longer create more of their kind. Yet they still lurk among the living, manipulating the hearts and minds of their prey to either serve them beyond the limits of natural life or to become sustenance for the nosferatu like so many others before.

Phantom Knight (Bestiary 3):
Cavaliers and knights who died for their cause make for particularly strong-willed phantoms. These phantoms often seek to continue their lifelong missions even in their purgatorial states, and their strong forces of will make them formidable fighters in spite of their incorporeality. A phantom knight might strive to find living followers of their church or order or seek out other mortals they knew in life as a way of staying grounded and avoiding the corruption of undeath.

Skeletal Attendant (Book of the Dead):
You might recognize this little fellow from the cover of the Book of the Dead. The perfect attendant to an undead ruler, this fan favorite finally has a figure to feature on your table!

Skeletal Solider 1 & 2 (Book of the Dead):
These soldiers continue to follow orders in death, still wielding the armaments they spent a lifetime learning how to use. While frequently made from the bones of humans or dwarves, other types of humanoids are quite common, such as bugbears, hobgoblins, and orcs.

Thrasfyr (Bestiary 2):
One of the mighty Tane, a powerful creature created eons ago by the Eldest of the First World. As bizarre in appearance as they are ferocious, thrasfyrs resemble six-limbed bears with bull-like horns, draconic scales, and a fire-breathing serpent for a tail. Every thrasfyr is wrapped in animated chains psychically linked to the creature’s mind.

Ulgrem-Axaan (Monsters of Myth):
Whatever Ulgrem-Axaan looked like in life, undeath has revealed a rotting, crocodilian skeleton encased in a jagged hide of ice crystals. Steam rises from its mouth and its back as its icy skin melts in the sun or from the heat of the electricity that cycles through its body. With excellent stealth in water, and the ability to heal in cold environments or after taking cold damage, the Ulgrem-Axaan is a dangerous creature that can both shock and freeze adventurers in their tracks.

If you’re looking to flesh out an eerie setting with some unique creatures of compelling conviction that tell a rich story, then the Impossible Foes are a perfect fit!
