Discover the lost Vulcan D’Kyr class ship, Seleya in the new Star Trek: Attack Wing Blind Booster Pack.

This October Star Trek: Attack Wing Organized Play Events will feature a series of ten blind reinforcement boosters to be used during events held over the next year. To prepare you for what you might find inside these blind boosters, let’s take an in-depth look at the ships, continuing with the Vulcan D’Kyr class ship, Seleya.

Prior to being assigned to the Vulcan Embassy on Earth, Sub-commander T’Pol was deputy science officer on board the Seleya for over a year. Following T’Pol’s departure, the Seleya were sent on a mission to chart thermobaric clouds surrounding the Delphic Expanse. Vulcan High Command lost communication with the Seleya after getting a report explaining that the ship was caught in a subspace eddy and was thought to have vanished, at least until now.

The Seleya is a standard Vulcan D’Kyr class ship, except it has one extra shield and a special ability: “When defending, if there is a SCAN token beside your ship, roll +1 defense die”. In typical Vulcan fashion, this ship is logically focused on exploration and defense. However, Captain Tavin was more prone to violence as a member of the V’Tosh Ka’Tur, a group that, unlike other Vulcans, does not believe in repressing their emotions. Appearing as the Elite Talent Upgrade in this pack, V’Tosh Ka’Tur can be used while attacking to discard this card and up to 3 other Upgrades and/or Active Shields to gain +1 attack die for each Upgrade or Shield discarded. While many think of the Vulcans as logical and peaceful, the Seleya is capable of doing serious damage to another starship.

To keep things balanced, most ships in the blind reinforcement booster packs come with one Elite Talent, one Crew Upgrade, one Tech Upgrade and one Weapon Upgrade. Solin, the chief engineer of the Seleya is the Crew Upgrade for this pack that allows you to take an action to discard this card and repair up to 2 Shield Tokens. Power Distribution Net is the Tech Upgrade in the blind booster that allows you to take an action to disable this card, and up to 3 of your Active Shields to immediately perform a green or white maneuver with a speed equal to the number of Shields you just disabled with this action. Aft Particle Beam is the Weapon Upgrade for the Seleya that allows you to fire this weapon from your rear firing arc.

Players will enjoy this blind booster because it expands on the Vulcan Faction with new upgrades and provides powerful options for fleet building in the future. Specifically, we can see that the Seleya and its crew have learned quite a few tricks during the years it was “missing” and presumed lost. It would be easy for someone to underestimate the Seleya, thinking it to be easy prey only to find out that the threats of the V’Tosh Ka’Tur are not to be taken lightly. Not only is such an assumption illogical, it might very well turn what your opponent had expected to be an easy victory into defeat.
