Q: How does it feel to be named 2015 World Champion in D&D Attack Wing?

I think it’s an amazing feeling. After putting so much time and effort into a hobby of mine, being named the World Champion is a dream come true! I feel blessed!

Q: What did you enjoy most about the competition?

What I enjoyed most about the competition was that it was competitive.

Q: How did you come up with your winning legion and what was your main strategy?

I came up with my legion and winning strategy based on the fact that I wanted to control the tempo of the game and force my opponents to play to me rather than have myself playing to their strengths. I realized that critical hits make the difference in this game more times than not, so I went with a build that could give out a lot of Crits but also negate attacks and limit the amount of damage being thrown back my way.

Q: What were your fellow competitors like?

My fellow competitors really were, and are, world class. Any of us could have walked away as the champ!

Q: What first brought you to D&D Attack Wing and how long have you been playing it?

What first brought me to D&D Attack Wing was my love for D&D and the FlightPath™ maneuver system used in other well-known games which I currently play, including Star Trek: Attack Wing. I have been playing this game since Gen-Con of 2014!

Q: How often and where do you play D&D Attack Wing?

I try to play as much as I can where I live. I play at Your Hobby Place in Martinsburg, WV where I also host the OP events. I also play in Winchester, VA at Kung-Fu Comics at least once a month and sometimes up to three times a month at both places. I also travel all over the DC area looking for games and playing whenever I can.

Q: What strategy or aspect of your game play do you believe lead to your victory over the other competitors?

In regards to the strategy I used, I’ll put it like this: “10 % luck, 20% skill, 15% concentrated power of will! 5% pleasure, and 50% pain, and 100% reason to remember my name!”

Q: Do you plan on fighting for your title and perhaps returning next year?

I do intend to compete as the World Champ next year and hope that whoever does win the 2016 title can also get a trophy or plaque!

Q: What advice would you give others trying to achieve the World Champion title?

My advice to others is, and this really goes with anything in life, work hard, believe in yourself, and never give up, even when things look bleak! Also, most importantly have fun!

Q: Is there anything else you would like to add?

There are a couple things that I would like to add before I go! I would like to thank my lord Jesus, my children Gabs, Abby, Excelsius, Izzy, Zoey and my love Jess, my children’s mother Marly, and my family & friends for supporting my habit and allowing me to play this game! So thank you, love you guys, and also thank you WizKids for this opportunity! Sincerely, The Champ! P.S Andrew Parks I got some great ideas, add me to the design team!
