Greetings HeroClix Fans,<\/p>\n

Welcome back to another preview from the upcoming Marvel HeroClix: Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 Movie Gravity Feed<\/strong><\/a>, releasing this week! Today, we\u2019re taking a look at everyone\u2019s favorite wooden hero, Groot!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>It should be implied, but from this point forward, be warned \u2013 potential spoilers for the film Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2<\/em> lie ahead!<\/p>\n<\/div>

\"Marvel<\/a><\/span><\/div>

If you\u2019ve seen any of the trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2<\/em>, you know that Groot<\/strong> has grown up a bit from where he was left at the end of the first film. No longer a potted plant, Groot<\/strong> is now a walking talking toddler, a tiny size<\/em> force of justice for the universe! Of course, as the old saying goes, it\u2019s not the size of the dog in the fight, it\u2019s the size of the fight in the dog \u2013 and this pint-sized three click 30-point guy packs a punch!<\/p>\n

To start, Groot<\/strong> has Improved Movement \u2013 Ignores Hindering Terrain<\/em>, allowing him to move freely amongst his plant brethren. He also has a trait called I am Groot!<\/em>, which allows Groot<\/strong> to use Sidestep<\/em>. Additionally, friendly characters within one square of Groot<\/strong> can use Improved Movement \u2013 Ignores Elevated Terrain<\/em>. He also has a special power appearing on all three clicks of his damage called Heart of the Team<\/em>, which allows Groot<\/strong> to use both Enhancement<\/em> and Shape Change<\/em>. Couple that with his natural powers of Stealth, Plasticity, Smoke Cloud<\/em>, and Poison, <\/em>and even though he\u2019s just a little guy, he\u2019s more than capable of holding his own and supporting the team!<\/p>\n

Some strategies to consider with Groot<\/strong> \u2013 definitely take advantage of his tiny size<\/em>, and make sure you\u2019re carrying him with any ranged or stealth characters you may have on your force to take advantage of both his Enhancement<\/em>, and once he\u2019s able to take actions after being carried, his Smoke Cloud<\/em> to place hindering terrain markers to either put them into stealth behind the smoke cloud, or drop your opponent’s attack by -1 by placing them in the smoke cloud. It\u2019s also great to use him to give someone that Improved Movement \u2013 Ignores Elevated Terrain<\/em>, have the person moving carry Groot<\/strong> to their destination, and have a different character use that same advantage from the trait by strategically placing Groot<\/strong> next to them.\u00a0 There\u2019s a lot you can do with this little guy, and he makes your Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em> or Cosmic <\/em>themed teams that much more efficient and effective, at a relatively little point investment.<\/p>\n
