Greetings HeroClix Fans!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s about time for today\u2019s preview of Marvel\u00a0HeroClix: Deadpool and X-Force<\/strong>.\u00a0 No, literally.\u00a0 Today\u2019s preview is about time; time travelers to be specific.\u00a0 So before we are out of time, here are Cable<\/strong> and his evil clone Stryfe<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<\/div>

Infected at birth with a techno organic virus that ate his body and replaced it with living cybernetics, Nathan Summers, son of X-Men<\/strong> leader Cyclops<\/strong>, was taken thousands of years into the future by the Clan Askani to treat his condition and raise him as the prophesized Chosen One to destroy Apocalypse<\/strong>.\u00a0 Though he is a very high powered telekinetic and telepathic mutant the majority of his abilities are used to keep the techno organic virus at bay.\u00a0 He is a highly trained and battle seasoned warrior.\u00a0 With his experience and access to future technologies he has been a soldier of fortune, leader of the New Mutants<\/strong> and X-Force<\/strong>, benevolent ruler of the Providence sanctuary he built, and protector of his unofficially adopted daughter,\u00a0Hope Summers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Condensing all of that into a HeroClix <\/strong>figure can be challenging, so let\u2019s dig into all the tactical goodness Cable <\/strong>brings to your table for 120 points.\u00a0 Right off we see he has a wide mix of keywords with his team affiliations of\u00a0the New Mutants<\/em>, Six Pack<\/em>, X-Force<\/em>, and X-men<\/em> with Armor<\/em>, Fututre<\/em>, and Soldier<\/em> rounding out his options.\u00a0 Looking at his combat symbols, we see that he has Improved Movement:\u00a0 Ignore Hindering Terrain<\/em>, Indomitable <\/em>letting him ignore pushing damage, and a trait titled X-Force<\/em> that gives him the use of Stealth<\/em>.\u00a0 Cable\u2019s <\/strong>dial starts off as a heavy ranged attacker and takes a dip towards the end into close combat utility after his ammo is spent.\u00a0 He starts off with his signature maneuver, Bodyslide<\/em>, on speed that lets him use Phasing\/Teleport <\/em>but when he moves 5 squares or less he can make a close or ranged attack for free.\u00a0 With a range value of 7 that gives him a pretty fair reach.\u00a0 Once he is positioned, he has Penetrating\/Psychic Blast <\/em>to make his 4 damage value stick, Probability Control<\/em> to improve his odds, and a special defense power called Techno Organic Body & Telekinetic Shield<\/em> letting him use Invulnerability<\/em> but also granting the use of Energy Shield\/Deflection<\/em> if he has less than 2 action tokens on him.<\/p>\n

Going down his dial,\u00a0Cable<\/strong> changes his ranged attack options like he switches weapons; gaining Running Shot<\/em>, Energy Explosion<\/em>, Ranged Combat Expert<\/em>, and a click of Bodyslide<\/em> in various combinations.\u00a0 Then he switches to combat knives and knuckles with Flurry<\/em>, Exploit Weakness<\/em>, and Toughness<\/em>. \u00a0On click 7, his last click, he is looking to get back into the fight with Bodyslide<\/em>, Probability Control<\/em>, and Regeneration<\/em>.\u00a0 If that still doesn\u2019t give you the healing you are looking for, remember he also has the X-Men <\/em>team ability so you can give this temporally displaced traveler more time.\u00a0 And he is going to need it if he is going to contend with his arch nemesis, his evil clone Stryfe<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<\/div>

Stryfe <\/strong>was cloned from Cable<\/strong> when Nathan Summers was taken to the future as an infant to help cure the techno organic virus that he was infected with.\u00a0 However, just as the cloning was complete,\u00a0Apocalypse\u2019s <\/strong>forces captured the clone thinking he was the original.\u00a0 Stryfe<\/strong> was raised as a spoiled tyrant and taught to develop and abuse his immense telekinetic and telepathic abilities so that his body would be the eventual unwitting host to the transferred essence of Apocalypse<\/strong> himself.\u00a0\u00a0 When a young Cable<\/strong> and his adoptive parents thwarted Apocalypse\u2019s <\/strong>plans,\u00a0Stryfe <\/strong>continued his petty and jealous war with Cable<\/strong> for years; eventually following him back to the late 20th<\/sup> century.\u00a0 Their battle on the moon at the conclusion of X-Cutioner\u2019s Song <\/strong>threw Cable <\/strong>back to their future time period and caused Stryfe<\/strong> to be lost in the timestream where he continually tries to engineer and manipulate his return to the timeline.\u00a0 His last laugh to the world before that was the release of the Legacy Virus which decimated mutant kind.<\/p>\n

To play out your revenge on the Summer\u2019s family, Apocalypse<\/strong>, and all mutant kind on your tabletop, Stryfe<\/strong> costs 135 points and has the Mutant Liberation Front<\/em>, Armor<\/em>, and Future <\/em>keywords.\u00a0 Also note, he is a Unique<\/em> piece with a silver ring around his base so you can only field one of him.\u00a0 He starts off staying hidden in Stealth,\u00a0<\/em>which is the perfect place to manipulate the battlefield with is special attack power Mind Over Matter <\/em>that lets him use Telekinesis <\/em>with the bonus of using it as a free action if he was given a non-free action that turn.\u00a0 That means you can move him and use Telekinesis<\/em>, make an attack with him and use Telekinesis<\/em>, use Telekinesis <\/em>and then use Telekinesis<\/em> again for free.\u00a0 That\u2019s a lot of telekinetic shenanigans so brush up on your line of fire and object token rules.\u00a0 He also has a special damage power Dawn Of A New Age<\/em> that gives him the use of Leadership<\/em> and Outwit<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Stryfe\u2019s<\/strong> armor isn\u2019t just for show either.\u00a0 He starts off with Invulnerability<\/em> that later drops down to Toughness<\/em> before a final click of Regeneration<\/em>.\u00a0 After he does take a damage, he drops the Stealth<\/em> and gains Mind Control <\/em>and Ranged Combat Expert<\/em>, still with his free use of Telekinesis<\/em> special.\u00a0 Late dial he gets really mad at his false twin brother and goes into a psionic rage with Running Shot<\/em> and Pulse Wave<\/em> and his Dawn Of A New Age<\/em> special again.\u00a0 As if all that wasn\u2019t enough to settle his jealous family squabble, when Stryfe <\/strong>is KO\u2019d it triggers his trait, The Legacy Virus,<\/em> that deals penetrating damage that cannot be ignored to each opposing character with a named keyword of your choice equal to half their current click number.\u00a0 Themed team players beware when you see Stryfe<\/strong> across the map from you!<\/p>\n
