Greetings, HeroClix fans! It\u2019s that time again, time to look at some exciting previews of upcoming 2017 Convention Exclusive figures from the Winter WizKids Open events! Today we\u2019ll have a look at two things that go together like peanut butter and chocolate \u2013 the\u00a0Pym Pocket Tank<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0Pym Particle Tank!<\/strong><\/p>\n

First, lets look at the smaller of the two, the\u00a0Pym Pocket Tank<\/strong>. This is a very simple dial to take in \u2013 1 click of life, with the only standard power of\u00a0Toughness<\/em>\u00a0to worry about. But we need to take a closer look at it\u2019s three traits before we dismiss it. First, we have the trait,\u00a0Personal Craft: Pym<\/em>, which states that a themed team may include the\u00a0Pym Pocket Tank<\/strong>, and is still a themed team, as long as a character named\u00a0Ant-Man, Giant-Man<\/strong>, or\u00a0Hank Pym<\/strong>\u00a0is on your force. Next is\u00a0Just a Keyring,<\/em>\u00a0which states that the\u00a0Pym Pocket Tank<\/strong>\u00a0must begin the game placed adjacent to a friendly character. And, when an adjacent friendly character moves, and actions resolve, you may place the\u00a0Pym Pocket Tank<\/strong>\u00a0adjacent to that character. Its final trait is called,\u00a0That Can Return to its Original Size<\/em>, and states that when an adjacent friendly character attacks an opposing character, the attacker may choose to modify its attack value by -1. If they do, and they hit, you then replace the\u00a0Pym Pocket Tank<\/strong>\u00a0with the #MP17-006a\u00a0Pym Particle Tank<\/strong>\u00a0on it\u2019s orange starting line, with one of its squares being adjacent to the target.\u00a0And<\/em>, if the attacking character is named\u00a0Ant-Man, Giant-Man<\/strong>, or\u00a0Hank Pym<\/strong>, you would use the yellow starting line instead. Finally, when replacing this character, you may ignore characters and blocking terrain when placing it, and destroy any in squares it\u2019s placed into. Any characters in squares it would be placed into are placed adjacent to it, and are dealt 2 penetrating damage.<\/p>\n

That brings us to the\u00a0Pym Particle Tank<\/strong>, which follows the standard\u00a0Vehicle<\/em>\u00a0ruleset, which you can read more in detail about on the character card pictured above. First, we\u2019re going to look at the piloted\u00a0Pym Particle Tank<\/strong>. This vehicle can carry up to 3 characters, and can be played at 150, 100, or 50 point values. Taking a look at its traits, we have the return of\u00a0Personal Craft: Pym<\/em>, which states that a themed team may include the\u00a0Pym Particle Tank<\/strong>, and is still a themed team as long as a character named\u00a0Ant-Man, Giant-Man<\/strong>, or\u00a0Hank Pym<\/strong>\u00a0is on your force. Next, we have the trait,\u00a0Enclosed Armor,\u00a0<\/em>which states that the\u00a0Pym Particle Tank\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0defense powers can\u2019t be countered. Additionally, the\u00a0Pym Particle Tank<\/strong>\u00a0can\u2019t attack adjacent characters, except via\u00a0Ram<\/em>. And the\u00a0Pym Particle Tank<\/strong>\u00a0can\u2019t use the pilot attack actions. Finally, it\u2019s last trait is the aforementioned\u00a0Ram<\/em>. This states that you may give the\u00a0Pym Particle Tank<\/strong>\u00a0a move action using\u00a0Improved Movement \u2013 Ignores Characters<\/em>, and move along a direct path. After actions resolve, make a close attack targeting all opposing characters whose squares were moved through. Each hit character is dealt\u00a0Pym Particle Tank\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0printed damage value, and then deal\u00a0Pym Particle Tank<\/strong>\u00a01 unavoidable damage for each 100 points of all hit characters combined point values.<\/p>\n

The piloted version of the tank also has a wide array of powers to support its traits. First, it has a special power called\u00a0High-Explosive Incendiary<\/em>, which states that when\u00a0Pym Particle Tank<\/strong>\u00a0misses with a range attack, after actions resolve, deal 1 damage to the target and all characters adjacent to the target. Along with that special power,\u00a0Pym Particle Tank<\/strong>\u00a0also possesses\u00a0Sidestep, Energy Explosion, Invincible, Impervious, Invulnerability, Toughness, Ranged Combat Expert<\/em>, and\u00a0Enhancement.<\/em><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Autopilot Pym Particle Tank<\/strong>\u00a0has 7 clicks of life, and can be played at 100 points. It also possesses the\u00a0Personal Craft: Pym\u00a0<\/em>special power, which states that a themed team may include the\u00a0Autopilot Pym Particle Tank<\/strong>, and is still a themed team as long as a character named\u00a0Ant-Man, Giant-Man<\/strong>, or\u00a0Hank Pym<\/strong>\u00a0is on your force. It also has the standard\u00a0Autopilot<\/em>\u00a0trait for vehicles, which as a refresher states that the vehicle may be given actions without a pilot, but when it doesn\u2019t have a pilot and makes an attack, after actions resolve the vehicle is dealt 1 unavoidable damage. The final trait is called\u00a0There\u2019s a Tiny Remote on My Keychain<\/em>, which states that\u00a0Autopilot Pym Particle Tank<\/strong>\u00a0can\u2019t have a pilot. With those traits, you also get the standard powers\u00a0Sidestep, Invincible, Impervious, Invulnerability,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Regeneration.<\/em><\/p>\n
