Greetings, HeroClix fans! Welcome to another peek into the future, as we take a gander at one of the upcoming\u00a02017 Winter WizKids Open<\/a>\u00a0Convention Exclusive Figures. Today, we\u2019ve got the sometimes pint-sized, but this time giant-sized, Hank Pym,\u00a0Giant-Man!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Giant-Man<\/strong>\u00a0is a\u00a0Colossal<\/em>-sized figure, meaning he has access to\u00a0Great Size, Giant Reach: 3, and Colossal Stamina.\u00a0<\/em>These abilities give him several effects starting with\u00a0Improved Movement \u2013 Ignores Elevated, Hindering,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Outdoor Blocking Terrain,\u00a0<\/em>and he may move though squares adjacent to or occupied by opposing characters.\u00a0<\/em>He can attack characters up to 3 squares away with close attacks with\u00a0Giant Reach<\/em>, and\u00a0Colossal Stamina<\/em>\u00a0allows him to be given a non-free action if he has two action tokens, but he will take 1 unavoidable damage, and won\u2019t be able to clear action tokens after that round. He is also able to\u00a0Carry<\/em>characters that are a smaller in size than he is, which can be useful for positioning your force.<\/p>\n<\/div>

So \u2013 we\u2019ve covered his size, now let\u2019s take a closer look at\u00a0Giant-Man\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0card and dial. First thing\u2019s first, at 19 clicks of life with his full value,\u00a0Giant-Man<\/strong>\u00a0is built to last. He\u2019s also\u00a0Indomitable<\/em>, which means you can push him normally without taking any pushing damage. He\u2019s playable at three point values of 200, 125, and 15, giving you options for having the big guy on your team. And then comes the bevy of standard powers \u2013\u00a0Charge, Sidestep, Quake, Super Strength, Toughness, Combat Reflexes, Super Senses, Outwit, Exploit Weakness,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Perplex<\/em>. Truly,\u00a0Giant-Man\u00a0<\/strong>is a marvel, and that\u2019s before we even start to look at his special powers!<\/p>\n

The first special power you\u2019ll encounter on\u00a0Giant-Man\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0dial at his full point value is a special defensive power,\u00a0Your Bullets Are Like Pebbles.\u00a0<\/em>This power states that\u00a0Giant-Man<\/strong>\u00a0can use both\u00a0Energy Shield\/Deflection<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Toughness \u2013\u00a0<\/em>meaning that from range on his top dial, he\u2019s has a 21 defense! The next special power you\u2019ll encounter on\u00a0Giant-Man\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0dial appears on his attack line, called\u00a0They Fall Like Dominoes\u2026<\/em>\u00a0This power states that\u00a0Giant-Man<\/strong>\u00a0can use\u00a0Quake<\/em>, and when he does, he can use\u00a0Giant Reach: X,<\/em>\u00a0where X is his current click number!<\/p>\n

Lastly, we look at the two special powers appearing on his final click of life,\u00a0Colossal Indifference\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Colossal Retaliation: Wing Sweep. Colossal Indifference<\/em>\u00a0is a STOP click, and states that if\u00a0Giant-Man<\/strong>\u00a0began the game on the 15-point starting line, he can\u2019t attack smaller characters, except via\u00a0Colossal Retaliation<\/em>.\u00a0Colossal Retaliation<\/em>\u00a0states that you can give\u00a0Giant-Man<\/strong>\u00a0a free action if no other\u00a0Colossal Retaliation<\/em>\u00a0power has been activated this turn, and choose an opposing character that attacked\u00a0Giant Man<\/strong>\u00a0or a damaged friendly character since your last turn. Then, place\u00a0Giant-Man<\/strong>\u00a0such that he can make a close attack targeting the chosen character, and he targets all other characters within 3 squares and line of fire as well. Hit characters are each dealt 3 damage instead of normal damage, and hit characters without the\u00a0Flight\u00a0<\/em>movement symbol are knocked back.<\/p>\n

There you have it! In all his colossal glory,\u00a0Giant-Man<\/strong>\u00a0will be available at the\u00a02017 Winter WKO<\/a>\u00a0events.
