Greetings HeroClix Fans,<\/p>\n

Welcome to another installment of our Clix It Up series! Today, we\u2019re looking at one of the most perplexing perps that Batman has had to outsmart \u2013\u00a0The Riddler!<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of Batman\u2019s oldest foes, first appearing in the 1940\u2019s,\u00a0The Riddler<\/strong>\u00a0is known primarily for his keen intellect \u2013 but he\u2019s also no slouch in combat! Today, we\u2019re going to look at three different iterations of\u00a0The Riddler<\/strong>, all representing different aspects of his persona and abilities.<\/p>\n

\"Clix<\/a><\/p>\n

The first version of\u00a0The Riddler<\/strong>\u00a0we\u2019re looking at is the 051 Super Rare from the\u00a0DC HeroClix: The Joker\u2019s Wild!<\/strong>\u00a0set. This version of Mr. Nigma is a 4-click, 50-point piece, and comes with a dial that has\u00a0Stealth, Sidestep, Combat Reflexes,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Outwit.\u00a0<\/em>Where Eddie really stands out, though, are with his traits. His first trait, called\u00a0This is How I Deal With the Bat<\/em>, activates if a character uses the\u00a0Batman Enemy<\/em>\u00a0team ability to replace their attack value with\u00a0The Riddler<\/strong>\u2019s. After the attack resolves, that character can use\u00a0Outwit<\/em>\u00a0until your next turn, but only to target a hit character. His second trait, called\u00a0I\u2019ll Give You a Hint, Bat-Brain<\/em>\u00a0states that\u00a0The Riddler\u00a0<\/strong>begins the game with the Clue attached to his base. You may give\u00a0The Riddler\u00a0<\/strong>a free action, allowing you to either reattach a Clue to\u00a0The Riddler<\/strong>, or in turn choose an opposing character within 6 squares and line of fire. To do this, detach the Clue, and place it in a clear, unoccupied square within 6 squares of that character. Once you\u2019ve done that, choose a standard power, and the target character can\u2019t use that power until an opposing character moves into or through the square with the Clue, or the Clue is reattached to\u00a0The Riddler<\/strong>! It\u2019s a great counter to some pesky\u00a0Outwit<\/em>\u00a0that the World\u2019s Greatest Detective tends to have on his dial!<\/p>\n

\"Clix<\/a><\/p>\n

Up next is a version of\u00a0Edward Nigma<\/strong>\u00a0built to harass and control your opponent\u2019s team. The 037b figure from the\u00a0DC HeroClix:<\/strong>\u00a0Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes<\/strong>\u00a0set is a Prime figure, and is truly antagonistic at 69 points. Over six clicks of life, you receive the standard powers\u00a0Charge, Leap\/Climb, Blades\/Claws\/Fangs, Barrier, Toughness, Probability Control, Battle Fury,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Perplex.\u00a0<\/em>On top of that, you get two special powers and a trait. His trait, called\u00a0Photographic Memory<\/em>, states that\u00a0Edward Nigma<\/strong>\u00a0ignores hindering terrain when drawing lines of fire to characters who didn\u2019t move during their last turn. His first special power, called\u00a0Hidden Clues<\/em>\u00a0appears on the first two clicks of his movement. This power states that\u00a0Edward Nigma<\/strong>\u00a0can use\u00a0Mind Control\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Shape Change.\u00a0<\/em>When he uses\u00a0Mind Control<\/em>, after actions resolve, hit characters are given up to 2 action tokens that don\u2019t deal pushing damage. Finally, appearing on the last two clicks of his attack is the special power called\u00a0I Know Your Secret, Mr. Wayne.\u00a0<\/em>This power prevents opposing characters within line of fire from using\u00a0Shape Change,\u00a0<\/em>or the\u00a0Alter Ego<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0Morph<\/em>\u00a0powers or abilities.<\/p>\n

\"Clix<\/a><\/p>\n

Lastly, we step back into the golden age of HeroClix with a figure from the\u00a0DC HeroClix:<\/strong>\u00a0Arkham Asylum\u00a0<\/strong>set. A longtime staple of the metagame, the 105 LE\u00a0Edward Nigma<\/strong>\u00a0is one of the all-time greats. At 5 clicks of life, and a relatively small 60-point investment,\u00a0Edward Nigma<\/strong>\u00a0makes the most of his standard powers, which are\u00a0Leap\/Climb, Incapacitate, Shape Change, Outwit<\/em>, and\u00a0Perplex<\/em>. But where he really shines is in his special power, appearing on the first three clicks of his defense.\u00a0A Man Reborn<\/em>\u00a0allows\u00a0Edward Nigma<\/strong>\u00a0to use both\u00a0Enhancement<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Mastermind<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 which is fantastic. But it gets better, because when an action token would be given to a character adjacent to\u00a0Edward Nigma<\/strong>, you can instead give it to\u00a0Edward Nigma<\/strong>\u00a0and roll a d6, which on the result of a 1, you deal 1 unavoidable damage to the adjacent character.<\/p>\n

So there you have it, folks \u2013 three versions of\u00a0The Riddler<\/strong>\u00a0that offer different play styles and strategies for you to work with and enjoy.
