Greetings, HeroClix fans! It\u2019s getting to that time of year again \u2013 the air is a little colder, the music a little cheerier, and in some places, we\u2019ve even seen our first snowfall! The holidays are right around the corner, and that means it\u2019s time to take a look at one of our traditional holiday figures that you can win at your friendly local game store\u2019s organized play events! This year, we\u2019re pleased to bring you the\u00a0Toy Soldier<\/strong>, straight out of Santa\u2019s Workshop!<\/p>\n

\"WizKids<\/a><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Toy Soldier<\/strong>\u00a0is a 60-point piece, with a range of six squares with one target \u2013 he\u2019s also\u00a0Indomitable<\/em>, so you can push him without concern. The first thing you\u2019ll notice about the\u00a0Toy Soldier<\/strong>\u00a0is the\u00a0trait,\u00a0Set Up the Rifle Line<\/em>. This trait states that at the beginning of your turn, you may choose a row, column, or diagonal that includes\u00a0Toy Soldier<\/strong>. If the chosen line includes all friendly\u00a0Wooden Soldier<\/strong>\u00a0bystanders, place a friendly\u00a0Wooden Soldier\u00a0<\/strong>bystander in that line, either adjacent to\u00a0Toy Soldier<\/strong>\u00a0or adjacent to another\u00a0Wooden Soldier\u00a0<\/strong>bystander. However, you can\u2019t place it if there are already 6 friendly\u00a0Wooden Soldier<\/strong>\u00a0bystanders on the map. He also has a second trait called\u00a0They Won\u2019t Listen!<\/em>, which states that\u00a0Toy Soldier<\/strong>\u00a0and friendly\u00a0Wooden Soldier<\/strong>\u00a0bystanders can\u2019t be carried or placed.<\/p>\n

One important thing to note with both the\u00a0Toy Soldier<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Wooden Soldier<\/strong>\u00a0bystander is that both have a 0 movement value, but they possess\u00a0Sidestep<\/em>. So, while they\u2019re not instantly mobile, they can both effectively build a wall as well as reposition slightly to protect the rest of your team. The\u00a0Toy Soldier<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Wooden Soldier<\/strong>\u00a0bystander also have full dials of\u00a0Toughness<\/em>, meaning they\u2019ll be able to stick around to protect those behind their wall of wood.\u00a0 The\u00a0Toy Solder<\/strong>\u00a0also has a special power called\u00a0Rifle Formation Rally<\/em>\u00a0which states that\u00a0Toy Soldier<\/strong>\u00a0and friendly\u00a0Wooden Soldier<\/strong>\u00a0bystanders can use\u00a0Enhancement,\u00a0<\/em>but only to affect other friendly characters named\u00a0Toy Soldier<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0Wooden Soldier<\/strong>. And, when they hit with a ranged combat attack, you may add one action to your action total this turn.<\/p>\n

Toy Soldiers<\/strong>\u00a0can be played on\u00a0Mystical, Santa\u2019s Workshop, Soldier,\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0Toy<\/em>\u00a0themed teams, so the possibilities for using the\u00a0Snowfall<\/em>\u00a0team ability to wildcard onto a beneficial team ability are endless. Use the\u00a0Mystics<\/em>\u00a0team ability, for example, and now every time your\u00a0Toy Soldiers\u00a0<\/strong>take damage, they\u2019ll be dealing it right back!<\/p>\n
