Greetings, HeroClix fans! Today we\u2019re taking a look at one of Batman\u2019s signature villains from the\u00a0DC Comics HeroClix: The Joker\u2019s Wild!<\/strong>\u00a0set that you can get today from\u00a0Pre-Release Events<\/a>\u00a0near you. This time, our journey through Arkham Asylum brings us to a villain who has been a thorn in the side of the Bat for almost 80 years \u2013 Oswald Cobblepot,\u00a0The Penguin!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\"DC<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Penguin<\/strong>\u00a0is a 40-point piece with 4 clicks of life, and while that might initially give you pause, a deeper look at his dial and abilities elevate his impressiveness. He begins with the trait\u00a0This Is How I Deal With the Bat<\/em>, which states that once per turn for all characters with this trait, if a character uses the Batman Enemy team ability to replace their attack value with\u00a0The Penguin\u2019s<\/strong>, after actions resolve, you may give a\u00a0Robo-Penguin<\/strong>\u00a0a move action as a free action.<\/p>\n

But what is a\u00a0Robo-Penguin<\/strong>, you ask? Well, that plays into his second trait, called\u00a0My Own Deadly Rookery<\/em>. This trait states that you can give\u00a0The Penguin<\/strong>\u00a0a power action to place an adjacent\u00a0Robo-Penguin<\/strong>bystander of your choice as described on his card. You can also give\u00a0The Penguin<\/strong>\u00a0a power action to give each\u00a0Robo-Penguin<\/strong>\u00a0a move action as a free action.<\/p>\n

You have three different options for your\u00a0Robo-Penguin<\/strong>\u00a0minions, each serving a different role on the team. To start, each possess the trait\u00a0Waddle, Waddle<\/em>, which states that\u00a0Robo-Penguin\u2019s\u00a0<\/strong>move actions don\u2019t count against your action total. From there, you can choose move combinations of\u00a0Sidestep, Pulse Wave,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Toughness,\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0Running Shot, Penetrating\/Psychic Blast,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Energy Shield\/Deflection<\/em>, or finally\u00a0Charge, Combat Reflexes,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Exploit Weakness.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Getting back to the main attraction,\u00a0The Penguin\u00a0<\/strong>has a special power that appears on each click of his damage called\u00a0My Best Weapon to Date!.\u00a0<\/em>This power states that\u00a0The Penguin\u00a0<\/strong>begins the game with the\u00a0Robo-Penguin<\/strong>\u00a0attached. When placing a\u00a0Robo-Penguin<\/strong>\u00a0bystander on the map, you may remove a\u00a0Robo-Penguin\u00a0<\/strong>from\u00a0The Penguin\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0base, and use it to represent that bystander. This bystander modifies its combat values by +1, and when it is KO\u2019d, you reattach the\u00a0Robo-Penguin<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0The Penguin\u2019s\u00a0<\/strong>base.\u00a0The Penguin<\/strong>\u00a0follows that special power up with the standard powers of\u00a0Stealth, Defend<\/em>, and\u00a0Willpower<\/em>.<\/p>\n

At a low point cost,\u00a0The Penguin<\/strong>\u00a0is a natural fit for many teams, and can be played on\u00a0Gotham City<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0Gotham City Underworld<\/em>\u00a0themed teams. Be sure to make use of his 18 and 17 defense on his top 2 clicks with his\u00a0Defend<\/em>\u00a0power, as that will help the different\u00a0Robo-Penguins\u00a0<\/strong>maintain a longer life span and make them harder to hit.<\/p>\n
