Today we have a team building and strategy article featuring\u00a0Spider-Man\u00a0<\/strong>and his allies with the\u00a0Spider-Man Family\u00a0<\/em>keyword from the new\u00a0Marvel HeroClix: Superior Foes of Spider-Man\u00a0<\/strong>set.<\/p>\n

There are many things that make\u00a0HeroClix<\/strong>\u00a0a fun and engaging game for nearly all ages.\u00a0 Though it involves elements of basic arithmetic, strategic planning and positioning, layers of complex power interactions, chance, and even the unknown; the element that makes it more than just the sum of its parts are the characters.\u00a0 Character dials are designed in a way that extract comic book flavor by highlighting a character\u2019s powers and personality in order to bring HeroClix to life. Some HeroClix figures have been designed as specialists, offering lower cost options that highlight specific powers for easier team building while other larger point characters are more general perspectives.\u00a0 Today\u2019s team building article focuses on 4 great examples of characters with these features; 3 brand new dials of classic characters and one character making her Clix debut. Each character demonstrates how dial design follows the source material to play like the characters and not just figures on the map.<\/p>\n

Throughout the nearly 15 years of\u00a0HeroClix<\/strong>\u00a0history, there have been countless versions of\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>.\u00a0 Sifting through the Golden Age archives of Clixdom there are many\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0figures that represent certain aspects of his comic book powers or periods of his long career but just a few that pack the essence of his character and all his powers.\u00a0 From his ability to swing from rooftops, his proportional arachnid strength, and snaring foes in his webbing to his distracting smack talking attitude, scientific mind, and his heroic drive to save the day this\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0has it all.\u00a0 For 100 points\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0leads off ignoring elevated and hindering terrain for movement, using\u00a0Hypersonic Speed<\/em>\u00a0granted by his\u00a0Unmatched Mobility\u00a0<\/em>special to make close attacks, grabbing objects with\u00a0Super Strength<\/em>, pushing himself to the limit with\u00a0Willpower,\u00a0<\/em>making free attacks with\u00a0Last-Ditch Effort<\/em>, dodging attacks like only he can with enhanced\u00a0Super Senses<\/em>\u00a0from his\u00a0Trusty Spider Sense<\/em>\u00a0trait,\u00a0Combat Reflexes<\/em>, and utilizing the\u00a0Spider\u2019s Web\u00a0<\/em>trait to pin foes in place with his Web FX base.\u00a0 Pepper in some\u00a0Perplex<\/em>,\u00a0Outwit<\/em>,\u00a0Sidestep<\/em>, and\u00a0Close Combat Expert\u00a0<\/em>and you have everything you could ask for in a\u00a0Spider-Man\u00a0<\/strong>figure. He can be used as a mobile primary attacker, support, and tie-up figure. Putting it all together with an acrobatically dynamic sculpt,\u00a0Spider-Man\u00a0<\/strong>has it all.<\/p>\n

Our next two pieces for the\u00a0Spider-Man Family<\/em>\u00a0team can make\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0even better with strategic use of their\u00a0Call In Help From The Spider-Verse<\/em>\u00a0traits.<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

From the 1990\u2019s Clone Saga we have Ben Reilly donning the sleeveless blue hoodie and red suit as the\u00a0Scarlet Spider<\/strong>.\u00a0 Reilly\u2019s claim to fame was the introduction of\u00a0Impact Webbing<\/em>\u00a0which he used to subdue foes from a safer distance, represented here alongside\u00a0Running Shot<\/em>\u00a0and a two target range of 4. With\u00a0Impact Webbing<\/em>, you can choose to give an action token to hit targets or prevent them from moving or being placed for a turn. Additionally, when\u00a0Scarlet Spider<\/strong>\u00a0hits a target, you may roll for\u00a0Call In Help From The Spider-Verse<\/em>to bring in the original\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>, or other friendly character, to step in and finish the job!<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

Making her\u00a0HeroClix\u00a0<\/strong>debut,\u00a0Silk<\/strong>\u00a0shares a common origin with Peter Parker, but was hidden away for years by a mysterious man named Ezekiel, in order to train her powers and protect her from\u00a0Morlun<\/strong>\u00a0and the Inheritors.\u00a0 As a result of this training, her \u2018Silk-Sense\u2019 is even stronger than Peter\u2019s \u2018Spider-Sense\u2019, and is represented in game by her special damage power\u00a0Precognitive Spider-Sense.<\/em>\u00a0This power allows her to use\u00a0Probability Control<\/em>, with an additional ability of re-rolling her\u00a0Super Senses<\/em>\u00a0roll on an opponent\u2019s turn.\u00a0 Additionally, her\u00a0Thin Finger Webs\u00a0<\/em>give her the use of\u00a0Incapacitate\u00a0<\/em>with 3 targets, but she cannot give actions tokens to a character that does not already have a token.\u00a0 This synergizes very well with\u00a0Scarlet Spider\u2019s<\/strong>Impact Webbing\u00a0<\/em>to place tokens on two targets and then follow up with\u00a0Silk<\/strong>\u00a0using\u00a0Incapacitate<\/em>\u00a0on up to 3 targets without having to worry about characters with zero action tokens for\u00a0Thin Finger Webs<\/em>. This combination can lock down opposing characters, and potentially ping them for 1 penetrating damage if they already have 2 tokens.<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

Lastly, making an appearance on our\u00a0Spider-Man Family\u00a0<\/em>theme team, is\u00a0Black Cat<\/strong>.\u00a0 As a highly skilled cat burglar naturally she ignores elevated terrain when she moves, but she also has a handy trait;\u00a0I\u2019ll Just Take That, Thanks.\u00a0<\/em>This trait allows her to pick an opposing characters pocket if they have an object equipped to them instead of dealing damage.\u00a0 To top it off, a full dial of\u00a0Stealth<\/em>,\u00a0Combat Reflexes<\/em>\u00a0and her damage special\u00a0Just Lucky, I Guess<\/em>, which makes her an ideal tie-up piece. She can easily keep opposing characters occupied while your spiders jump around, pin everyone else down with their webbing, and smash heavy objects over their heads while hurling sarcasm in their general direction.<\/p>\n
