Greetings HeroClix fans, and welcome to another entry into our Clix It Up series, this time focusing on the titular character from the\u00a0Marvel HeroClix: Superior Foes of Spider-Man\u00a0<\/strong>set. That\u2019s right, we\u2019re digging deep on different takes on Peter Parker himself,\u00a0Spider-Man!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Clix<\/a><\/p>\n

Up first, we\u2019ve got the 049 rare version of\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0from the\u00a0Superior Foes of Spider-Man\u00a0<\/strong>set, who brings two very powerful traits, as well as two tremendous special powers to the game. His first trait,\u00a0Trusty Spider-Sense<\/em>\u00a0allows\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0to use\u00a0Super Senses<\/em>, and he can also evade attacks made by characters using\u00a0Precision Strike.<\/em>\u00a0Additionally, when he\u2019s hit by a ranged attack, you increase the result of this roll by 1! His second trait is called\u00a0Spider\u2019s Web<\/em>, which states when\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0hits, after actions resolve, you may attach his Web marker to a hit target, removing it from anywhere else. The character with the Web marker can\u2019t move without breaking away, \u00a0can\u2019t automatically break away, and other characters don\u2019t have to break away from that character. Finally, when that character successfully breaks away, remove the Web marker. His first special power that we wanted to look at appears on his movement,\u00a0Unmatched Mobility<\/em>, and gives this version of\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0the ability to use\u00a0Hypersonic Speed<\/em>, but only to make close combat attacks. Finally, on attack is the special power\u00a0Last Ditch Effort<\/em>, which allows him to use\u00a0Precision Strike<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 and, in addition to that, you can give him\u00a0a free action to make a close attack!<\/p>\n

Our next version of the Wall-Crawler puts out eyes squarely on one of the most popular iterations of\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>, the 2015 008 LE from the\u00a0Marvel HeroClix: Symbiote<\/strong>\u00a0Monthly OP Kit<\/strong>. When he wore the black costume,\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0was a more aggressive, more powerful version of himself \u2013 but with some distinct weaknesses, which we\u2019ll get into.<\/p>\n

\"Clix<\/a><\/p>\n

First, he has a stack of\u00a0Improved Movement<\/em>, including Ignoring Elevated Terrain, Ignoring Hindering Terrain, and Ignoring Characters \u2013 meaning this Spidey has the most mobility from top to bottom on his dial than any other that we\u2019ll look at today. His first trait,\u00a0Sonic Sensitivity<\/em>, plays into the weakness we spoke about earlier \u2013 with this trait,\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0can use\u00a0Toughness<\/em>. However, when he\u2019s hit by an attack using\u00a0Energy Explosion\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0Penetrating\/Psychic Blast<\/em>, after actions resolve, you\u2019ll place an action token on him if he has less than two action tokens. His second trait is called\u00a0Webbing<\/em>, which states that when\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0hits with a ranged combat attack and actions resolve, roll a d6. On a result of a 4-6, the hit characters can\u2019t move, be placed, or make ranged combat attacks until your next turn. Finally, to show the power of the Symbiote, we have two special powers \u2013 the first is called\u00a0Aggressive Arachnid,\u00a0<\/em>which grants\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0the ability to use both\u00a0Charge<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Flurry<\/em>. His second special power on defense is called\u00a0Symbiote-Enhanced Spider-Sense,<\/em>allowing him to use\u00a0Super Senses<\/em>. Additionally, you can modify\u00a0Spider-Man\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0defense value by +1 against ranged combat attacks.<\/p>\n

\"Clix<\/a><\/p>\n

Next up is a distinctly different version of\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>, the\u00a0Iron Spider!\u00a0<\/strong>The 056 Chase from the\u00a0Marvel HeroClix: Amazing Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0set,\u00a0Iron Spider<\/strong>\u00a0is a powerhouse \u2013 and he gives you a built in set of options! His trait,\u00a0Morph: Spider Armor<\/em>, allows him to be given a move or close combat action. After those actions resolve, you may replace him with any other character with this trait, the\u00a0Morph: Identity Crisis<\/em>\u00a0trait, or the\u00a0Morph: Changing Frequencies<\/em>\u00a0trait on the same click number.\u00a0Iron Spider<\/strong>\u00a0has two special powers \u2013 the first, called\u00a0Gliding to the Rescue<\/em>, states that\u00a0Iron Spider<\/strong>\u00a0can use the\u00a0Flight<\/em>\u00a0ability and\u00a0Running Shot.\u00a0<\/em>His second special power is called\u00a0Three \u201cWaldos<\/em>,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>which allows\u00a0Iron Spider<\/strong>\u00a0to use\u00a0Flurry\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0Perplex<\/em>\u00a0once per turn, and he can only use\u00a0Perplex\u00a0<\/em>to target himself. Now, at first glance,\u00a0Iron Spider<\/strong>\u00a0might seem lesser than the two previous looks of\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>, but where he lacks in traits, he more than makes up for in combat values. With over 70% of his dial being able to naturally break through defenses without the use of any other powers, three targets for ranged attacks, double digit attack values across the board, and his\u00a0Indomitable<\/em>nature, this\u00a0Spider-Man\u00a0<\/strong>is more than capable of holding his own against any other version!<\/p>\n

\"Clix<\/a><\/p>\n

Our final version of\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0is a more\u2026\u00a0Superior<\/em>\u00a0version \u2013 the\u00a0Superior Spider-Man!<\/strong>\u00a0The 060 Super Rare from the\u00a0Superior Foes of Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0comes loaded with three traits to show how superior he is to other versions. First up is the trait\u00a0Superior Spider Arms<\/em>, which states\u00a0Superior Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0can use\u00a0Flurry.\u00a0<\/em>When he does, he can use\u00a0Probability Control<\/em>, and when he hits, the hit character\u2019s defense value is modified by -1 until your next turn. Up next is the trait\u00a0Call In Help From The Spider-Verse!<\/em>, which claims that once per turn, for all characters with this trait, when\u00a0Superior Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0hits an opposing character and after actions resolve you may roll a d6 that can\u2019t be rerolled. On a result of 3-6, place another friendly character with the\u00a0Spider-Man Family<\/em>\u00a0keyword adjacent to this character. His third trait,\u00a0Spider\u2019s Web<\/em>, is identical to the same named trait from our earlier\u00a0Spider-Man\u00a0<\/strong>entry \u2013 it states that when\u00a0Superior Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0hits, after actions resolve you may attach his Web marker to a hit target, removing it from anywhere else. The character with the Web marker can\u2019t move without breaking away, can\u2019t automatically break away, and other characters don\u2019t have to break away from that character. When that character successfully breaks away, remove the Web marker. Finally,\u00a0Superior Spider-Man\u00a0<\/strong>has one special power, called\u00a0It\u2019s My Life, I\u2019ll Fight to Keep It<\/em>, which allows him to use\u00a0Super Senses, Toughness<\/em>, and\u00a0Willpower<\/em>.<\/p>\n
