Greetings HeroClix Fans,<\/p>\n

The Marvel HeroClix: Superior Foes of Spider-Man set features the Spider-Man Family, Sinister Syndicate and more friends and foes of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Also included in the upcoming set are three HeroClix designed by HeroClix Champions. To introduce these new figures, we spoke with the champion designers about how they came up with their HeroClix. First up is Chameleon, designed by the 2014 World Champion, Patrick Yapjoco.<\/p>\n

What first brought you to the world of HeroClix?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I used to collect action figures and comics, and play other table top games. When I saw this at my local comic shop, I was intrigued.\u00a0 The rest is history.<\/p>\n

How long have you been playing HeroClix?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve played since Infinity Challenge, but I took a break from Ultimates to Arkham Asylum.\u00a0 When Hammer of Thor was released, I was hooked again.<\/p>\n

How often and where do you play HeroClix?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I play almost every day if I can, since I run a Heroclix-only store, Majestix.\u00a0 It\u2019s in Orange, California and we are one of two stores that I know are dedicated purely to this great game.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite thing about HeroClix?<\/strong><\/p>\n

From a gaming aspect, I love the team-building and the synergies that can be discovered while playing the game.\u00a0 The designers are always pushing the envelope on new game elements and rules, which makes for a dynamic and FUN game.\u00a0 The other aspect I love is the community.\u00a0 Being part of many other gaming communities, I can definitely say that the HeroClix community is BY FAR, the best gaming community I have been a part of.<\/p>\n

What inspired you to choose the character you designed?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am first and foremost a Spider-Man guy.\u00a0 I love his rogues gallery, especially the Sinister Six storylines.\u00a0 Chameleon was the first Spider-villain, too! We haven\u2019t had a Chameleon in 6-7 years and it\u2019s about time the Master of Disguises gets his spotlight again!<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

What were the challenges or considerations you faced while conceptualizing your dial design?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The hardest part was keeping his point value low enough so he didn\u2019t take up a lot of space on a team, since he is mainly a background guy doing undercover work.\u00a0 My initial design came back at well over 100 points (I\u2019m greedy)!<\/p>\n

Please walk us through your dial design.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I wanted to showcase Chameleon\u2019s mastery of the art of disguises.\u00a0 I wanted to see what we could do with it, and the Stan Lee figure gave me inspiration on how it could be done.\u00a0 I also wanted him to be the definitive Shapechange guy, which is why he has the trait that prevents others from using Shapechange or being replaced. He is an integral part of the Sinister Syndicate, so he needed that team ability, but since he could be anyone, he could be a part of any team, too.\u00a0 So, we decided that making him a wild card would suit both needs. Being a Spy, he should have some influence\/knowledge, which is where Perplex and Outwit come in.\u00a0 Lastly, he is tough to track down due to his disguises, which is why he has Stealth, Shapechange, and Super Senses.On his last click, he has Regeneration, which is meant to show he is trying to create a new disguise.<\/p>\n

Any parting thoughts?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was a fun process designing this figure.\u00a0 Chameleon went through a couple of different iterations, but I am happy with the outcome.\u00a0 Scott was very open and helpful in what I wanted to accomplish with this figure and I am glad that he is 70pts, as it will give teams more flexibility in team-building.\u00a0 I hope everyone enjoys the Disguise trait and I am excited to see which Disguises Chameleon will be using.\u00a0 Oh, and remember, when in doubt, Perplex the Attack (Chameleon can help with that)!<\/p>\n
