{"id":5690,"date":"2016-07-12T20:17:46","date_gmt":"2016-07-12T20:17:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/67272bb316.nxcli.io\/heroclix\/?p=5690"},"modified":"2016-10-13T19:31:15","modified_gmt":"2016-10-13T19:31:15","slug":"marvel-heroclix-superior-foes-of-spider-man-hydro-man","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wizkids.com\/heroclix\/2016\/07\/12\/marvel-heroclix-superior-foes-of-spider-man-hydro-man\/","title":{"rendered":"Marvel HeroClix: Superior Foes of Spider-Man Hydro-Man"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Greetings HeroClix Fans!<\/p>\n<p>The subject of today\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Marvel HeroClix: Superior Foes of Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0preview has left our friendly neighborhood\u00a0<strong>Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0all washed up on several occasions, but he hasn\u2019t been seen in HeroClix form since the\u00a0<strong>Marvel HeroClix: Sinister<\/strong>\u00a0set!\u00a0 Get out your wetsuits as\u00a0<strong>Hydro-Man<\/strong>\u00a0flows back into town!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/041b-Hydro-Man-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-17878\" src=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/041b-Hydro-Man-1.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 524px) 100vw, 524px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/041b-Hydro-Man-1.jpg 1013x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/041b-Hydro-Man-1-300x244.jpg 300x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/041b-Hydro-Man-1-768x625.jpg 768x\" alt=\"Marvel HeroClix: Superior Foes of Spider-Man - Hydro-Man\" width=\"524\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hydro-Man<\/strong>\u00a0is a Rare Prime HeroClix\u00a0that can be added to your force by paying either 60 or 100 points.\u00a0 By using his 60-point version, he starts the game on click 3.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Hydro-Man<\/strong>\u00a0has the Frightful Four, Masters of Evil and Sinister Syndicate keywords as options if you wish to include him on a themed team.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Hydro-Man<\/strong>\u00a0also has the Masters of Evil and Sinister Syndicate printed team abilities, meaning you can still take actions even when he already has two action tokens (but he\u2019ll be dealt one unavoidable damage after the action resolves) and he can share his unmodified attack value with another teammate who also has the Sinister Syndicate team ability. \u00a0<strong>Hydro-Man<\/strong>\u00a0has the standard attack, defense, and damage combat symbols, and the Swimmer speed symbol to ignore water terrain when he moves.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Hydro-Man<\/strong>\u00a0is built for close attacks and has several standard powers including\u00a0<em>Charge<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Quake<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Close Combat Expert<\/em>, reflecting his combat style.<\/p>\n<p>To represent\u00a0<strong>Hydro-Man<\/strong>\u2019s water-based powers, he hits the battlefield with three traits.\u00a0 The first trait,\u00a0<em>Drown You on Dry Land<\/em>, lets you place the Submerged marker (the Water ClixFX Base he comes with!) on an adjacent opposing character.\u00a0 A character with the Submerged marker attached can\u2019t be placed, must break away before moving, and can\u2019t break away automatically.\u00a0 Additionally, characters who fail to break away are dealt 1 penetrating damage.\u00a0 The next trait,\u00a0<em>Water Sustains Me<\/em>, allows\u00a0<strong>Hydro-Man<\/strong>\u00a0to take a free action to place a water terrain marker within 6 squares and line of fire -or- remove a water terrain marker from a square he occupies and heal him 1 click.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Hydro-Man<\/strong>\u2019s third trait,\u00a0<em>Absorbing Excess Water<\/em>, \u00a0boosts his damage value by +1 and giving him the Giant damage symbol when he occupies a square of water! Additionally, if\u00a0<strong>Hydro-Man<\/strong>\u00a0is also adjacent to 8 squares of water terrain, he instead gains the Colossal damage symbol, and increases his damage value by +2.\u00a0 You\u2019ll definitely want to choose a map with ample amounts of water terrain to gain the bonuses from\u00a0<em>Absorbing Excess Water<\/em>!<\/p>\n<p>Moving past\u00a0<strong>Hydro-Man<\/strong>\u2019s traits, he starts his dial with a special power called\u00a0<em>Water Flows Everywhere<\/em>\u00a0that represents his ability to travel just about anywhere he pleases.\u00a0\u00a0<em>Water Flows Everywhere<\/em>\u00a0lets\u00a0<strong>Hydro-Man<\/strong>\u00a0use\u00a0<em>Sidestep<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Improved Movement<\/em>\u00a0to ignore elevated, hindering, and blocking terrain, as well as characters when he moves<strong>.\u00a0<\/strong>He rounds out his dial with some great standard powers including\u00a0<em>Impervious<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Barrier<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Super Senses<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Shape Change<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Close Combat Expert<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hydro-Man<\/strong>\u00a0has point values that should allow you to add other attackers and support characters on your force, preferably with some shared keywords to make a themed team to increase your chances of picking a water map!\u00a0 He has plenty of synergy between his traits to place more water terrain to heal himself or increase his combat values, and get opposing characters stuck near him.
