Today, we\u2019re taking a step back from the sealed portion of the\u00a0Marvel HeroClix: Civil War Storyline Organized Play<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0event and checking out a constructed team featuring the Anti-Registration members of the New Avengers!\u00a0 Up first is a Hero for Hire who is taking the role of a close-attacking bruiser on our team.\u00a0 Sweet Christmas, it\u2019s\u00a0Luke Cage<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

At 70 points,\u00a0Luke Cage<\/strong>\u00a0can throw a mean punch and take one, too, thanks to an appropriate power set that includes\u00a0Charge<\/em>,\u00a0Flurry<\/em>,\u00a0Super Strength<\/em>,\u00a0Invulnerability<\/em>,\u00a0Toughness<\/em>, and\u00a0Close Combat Expert<\/em>.\u00a0 Additionally,\u00a0Luke Cage<\/strong>\u00a0has a trait called\u00a0Unbreakable Skin<\/em>, which lets him reduce penetrating damage dealt to him and thwart powers like\u00a0Penetrating\/Psychic Blast<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Exploit Weakness<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0Luke Cage<\/strong>\u00a0has the standard speed, attack, defense, and damage combat symbols and starts his dial with the combination of\u00a0Charge<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Super Strength.\u00a0<\/em>Be sure to have\u00a0him grab an object and get him into the fight to deal some extra damage.\u00a0 Also, if you plan ahead when using\u00a0Charge<\/em>, you can end\u00a0Luke Cage<\/strong>\u2019s movement next to a teammate who\u2019s ready to make a close attack and boost that character\u2019s damage with\u00a0Empower<\/em>.\u00a0 Toward the end of his dial,\u00a0Luke Cage<\/strong>\u00a0picks up a special power called\u00a0Not Giving Up<\/em>, which lets him use\u00a0Toughness<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Willpower<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

Next up on our New Avengers force is\u00a0Spider-Woman<\/strong>, whose role on our team would be that of a ranged attacker, tie-up, and taxi.\u00a0\u00a0Spider-Woman<\/strong>\u00a0comes in at 60 points and can shoot one target up to four squares away.\u00a0 She also has the standard attack, defense, and damage combat symbols, along with the flyer speed symbol, which grants\u00a0her the use of the\u00a0Flight<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Carry<\/em>\u00a0abilities.\u00a0\u00a0Spider-Woman<\/strong>\u2019s power set includes standard powers like\u00a0Plasticity<\/em>,\u00a0Sidestep<\/em>,\u00a0Super Senses<\/em>,\u00a0Combat Reflexes<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Perplex,\u00a0<\/em>and makes her difficult to hit and escape from.\u00a0 She also hits the battlefield with a trait called\u00a0Hidden Agenda<\/em>, which lets her heal a click when a friendly character is KO\u2019d.\u00a0 Offensively,\u00a0Spider-Woman<\/strong>\u00a0has a special power called\u00a0Bio-Electric Blasts<\/em>, which allows\u00a0her to use\u00a0Precision Strike<\/em>.\u00a0 Additionally, when she shoots an opponent and hits, her target is given an action token after actions resolve.\u00a0\u00a0Bio-Electric Blasts<\/em>\u00a0is a power that is useful in limiting your opponent\u2019s options by placing action tokens on enemy characters and\u00a0Precision Strike<\/em>\u00a0to whittle through their dials.<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0is the next member of our force and plays the role of shooter\/melee combatant.\u00a0\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0has a point value of 80 and can shoot a single target up to four squares away.\u00a0 Mobility isn\u2019t a concern for the wall-crawler, who has an\u00a0Improved Movement<\/em>\u00a0ability called\u00a0Does Whatever a Spider Can,<\/em>\u00a0that allows him to ignore elevated and hindering terrain when he moves.\u00a0 Additionally, opponents may have trouble landing attacks on\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0as his\u00a0Annoying Arachnid<\/em>\u00a0trait lets him use\u00a0Super Senses<\/em>\u00a0to potentially evade attacks. Also, if he hits with a close attack,\u00a0Annoying Arachnid<\/em>\u00a0lets him use\u00a0Sidestep<\/em>\u00a0and automatically break away when doing so.\u00a0 When it comes to piling it on in close combat,\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u00a0can use\u00a0Charge<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Flurry<\/em>\u00a0through his\u00a0Amazing, Spectacular, Sensational<\/em>\u00a0speed special power.\u00a0 The rest of\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>\u2019s power set features standard powers like\u00a0Super Strength<\/em>,\u00a0Energy Shield\/Deflection<\/em>,\u00a0Combat Reflexes<\/em>,\u00a0Willpower<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Perplex<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve previously shown you the leader and last member of our New Avengers force,\u00a0Captain America<\/strong><\/a>, but let\u2019s take another look at what ol\u2019 winghead brings to the fight.\u00a0 Like\u00a0Luke Cage<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Spider-Man<\/strong>,\u00a0Captain America<\/strong>\u00a0can mix it up in close combat and has the standard powers\u00a0Flurry<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Charge<\/em>\u00a0to get down and dirty.\u00a0 He can also play the role of ranged attacker and throw his mighty shield up to five squares away to make his opponents yield.\u00a0 Mobility isn\u2019t much of an issue for\u00a0Captain America<\/strong>\u00a0because he can ignore hindering terrain and characters with his\u00a0Improved Movement<\/em>\u00a0ability, called\u00a0Soldiering On<\/em>.\u00a0 He also has two special powers,\u00a0Blocking<\/em>\u00a0Repulsor Blasts<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Leading the Resistance<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0Blocking Repulsor Blasts<\/em>\u00a0offers him some bonuses and protection from ranged attacks by letting him use\u00a0Energy Shield\/Deflection<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Toughness<\/em>\u00a0and by preventing him from being targeted by attacks that use\u00a0Ranged Combat Expert<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0Leading the Resistance<\/em>\u00a0boosts\u00a0Captain America<\/strong>\u2019s effectiveness in melee situations by letting him use\u00a0Close Combat Expert<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Leadership<\/em>\u00a0as if he were 100 points.<\/p>\n
