Greetings HeroClix fans, and welcome to a team building exercise featuring one of the signature\u00a0Pro-Registration<\/em>\u00a0teams from the\u00a0Marvel HeroClix: Civil War<\/strong>\u00a0Storyline<\/strong>\u00a0Organized Play<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Event! Today, we\u2019re looking at a group of \u201creformed\u201d villains intent on working with the government to correct their misguided ways \u2013 the\u00a0Thunderbolts!<\/em><\/p>\n

There are a lot of options for\u00a0Thunderbolts<\/em>\u00a0characters in this set, and we\u2019ve put together a team for a 300-point constructed game with a good mix of characters and playstyles. Three of these characters were at one-time part of the core\u00a0Thunderbolts<\/em>\u00a0team, with\u00a0Songbird\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Atlas<\/strong>\u00a0joining at the start, and\u00a0Radioactive Man<\/strong>coming aboard soon after. As they were all dedicated to improving themselves and leaving their lives\u00a0of villainy behind, they all share a trait called\u00a0Justice, Like Lightning<\/em>, which you may recognize as the tagline of the comic. This trait states that after actions resolve, during which one of those characters damages one or more opposing characters with an attack, roll a d6 that can\u2019t be rerolled. On a result of a 5 or 6, you may remove an action token from a friendly character with the\u00a0Thunderbolts<\/em>\u00a0keyword within five squares. This trait can help the\u00a0Thunderbolts<\/em>\u00a0to keep pursing their targets!<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

Up first is Dr. Chen Lu \u2013 the\u00a0Radioactive Man!\u00a0<\/strong>A 70-point piece with 5 clicks of life,\u00a0Radioactive Man<\/strong>\u00a0is designed to inflict a lot of damage to characters in close situations. He starts with a special power called\u00a0Nuclear-Level Radiation<\/em>\u00a0that gives him a different take on\u00a0Poison<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 as long as he is next to an opposing character at the beginning of the turn,\u00a0Radioactive Man<\/strong>\u00a0can deal 2 damage to each adjacent character, or instead deal 1 damage to all other characters within 3 squares! He has a solid mix of standard powers as well, bringing\u00a0Sidestep, Poison, Toughness,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Invulnerability\u00a0<\/em>to the table, along with a\u00a0range of 3 squares, and a natural 3 or 4 damage value throughout his dial!<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

Joining him is one of the most iconic members of the\u00a0Thunderbolts<\/em>, the former Screaming Mimi,\u00a0Songbird!\u00a0<\/strong>Much like\u00a0Radioactive Man<\/strong>,\u00a0Songbird<\/strong>\u00a0is a 70-point character, who is able to attack two targets from 5 squares away. She possesses 1 attack special power, which appears on her first two clicks called\u00a0Sonic Constructs<\/em>, which gives\u00a0Songbird<\/strong>\u00a0the ability to use\u00a0Force Blast, Incapacitate,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Telekinesis<\/em>. Access to these powers makes her a natural board controller that can move, freeze, and place characters.\u00a0Songbird<\/strong>also has a myriad of standard powers, including\u00a0Sidestep, Force Blast, Running Shot, Energy Explosion, Pulse Wave, Barrier, Super Senses<\/em>, and\u00a0Leadership<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

Our next team member towers above the rest of the\u00a0\u2018Bolts<\/em>, and features the\u00a0Giant Reach, Great Size<\/em>\u00a0combat symbol \u2013 it\u2019s\u00a0Atlas<\/a>!\u00a0<\/strong>At 90-points,\u00a0Atlas\u00a0<\/strong>is a brute force attacker who is suited to bring in the midst of the fight. Like both\u00a0Radioactive Man\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Songbird<\/strong>,\u00a0Atlas<\/strong>\u00a0also possesses one special power, appearing on clicks 2 and 3 of his six click dial.\u00a0Just Like When We Invaded the Mansion<\/em>\u00a0grants\u00a0Atlas<\/strong>\u00a0the ability to use both\u00a0Flurry<\/em>and\u00a0Sidestep<\/em>. Additionally, when you use\u00a0Flurry<\/em>, after actions resolve, you may place any hit characters adjacent to him!\u00a0Atlas<\/strong>\u00a0also has a mix of standard powers suited to his more in-your-face approach, including\u00a0Charge, Sidestep, Quake, Impervious, Invulnerability, Toughness<\/em>, and\u00a0Close Combat Expert.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

Our final team member was a new recruit during the Civil War, while the\u00a0Thunderbolts<\/em>\u00a0were tracking down and imprisoning unregistered heroes.\u00a0Jack O\u2019Lantern<\/strong>\u00a0gave the team another sets of eyes in the sky.\u00a0\u00a0His\u00a0Improved Targeting \u2013 Ignores Hindering Terrain,\u00a0<\/em>allows him to see though any\u00a0Hindering Terrain<\/em>\u00a0and so opposing characters trying to hide with\u00a0Stealth<\/em>\u00a0are in trouble. As a straightforward attacker,\u00a0Jack O\u2019Lantern<\/strong>has a mix of powers that include\u00a0Running Shot, Sidestep, Energy Explosion, Penetrating\/Psychic Blast, Toughness<\/em>, and\u00a0Exploit Weakness<\/em>. Use him to deal\u00a0some nice penetrating damage near the\u00a0end of his dial.<\/p>\n

And with\u00a0Jack O\u2019Lantern<\/strong>, we bring to a close our 290 point\u00a0Thunderbolts<\/em>\u00a0squad! There are a\u00a0lot<\/em>\u00a0of options in this set for you to customize your\u00a0Thunderbolts\u00a0<\/em>to suit your needs \u2013 swapping in characters like\u00a0Bullseye<\/a>,\u00a0Taskmaster<\/a>, MACH-IV, Venom,\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0Jester<\/strong>, can swing this team in any direction to suit your play style.<\/p>\n
