Tournament Legal Maps for 2016 HeroClix U.S. Nationals and World Championship Event<\/strong><\/p>\n

The HeroClix U.S. National Championship and World Championship events will be taking place at Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio, June 15th-19th, 2016. In addition to all of the HeroClix premier events, there will be a variety of side events throughout the weekend for HeroClix and other WizKids games giving players a chance to win rare prizes and convention exclusives will be available for purchase\u2014for more details visit the\u00a02016 WizKids U.S. Nationals and World Championship announcement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

PLEASE NOTE: The HeroClix U.S. National Championships will\u00a0only<\/u>\u00a0be open to players that qualified from the 2016 Regional Championship events.<\/em><\/p>\n

For players in the\u00a02016\u00a0HeroClix U.S Nationals\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<\/strong>HeroClix<\/strong>\u00a0World Championship\u00a0<\/strong>events, there is a map menu for what maps you can use in these events. These tournament legal maps will\u00a0be used in both the qualifier rounds and the final rounds. The\u00a02016 HeroClix U.S. Nationals and World Championship Map Menu\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>is listed below in the article.<\/p>\n

Map Selection<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

When filling out their Army Sheet, players may indicate up to three (3) tournament legal maps that they may choose to use if and when they are given the option to choose a map for their game.\u00a0 When selecting a map for a round, players have the option of:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Using the map that is on the table they are assigned (see\u00a0Maps Provided by WizKids<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0below). Players may choose either the front or the back face of the map that is already on their table.
    [NOTE: Players must use the map on the table they are assigned and may\u00a0not<\/u>\u00a0take\/swap maps from\/with any nearby tables.<\/em>]<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u2013or\u2013<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Selecting one of the tournament legal maps that they recorded on their Army Sheet. PLEASE NOTE: When recording a map option to list on the Army Sheet and when selecting maps for play, players may only list\/select one playable side of a map and may only select the indicated side of the map.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Example: The double-sided map that was part of the Marvel HeroClix: Avengers Assemble set has two playable sides\u2014Arcade\u2019s Arena &\u00a0Avenger\u2019s Compound. If a player lists Arcade\u2019s Arena on their Army Sheet (and does not have Avenger\u2019s Compound\u00a0listed), that player may only select to use the Arcade\u2019s Arena side of the map\u2014they may not use the side that was not listed on their Army Sheet (Avenger\u2019s Compound).<\/i><\/p>\n

      If a player\u00a0does not\u00a0have any tournament legal maps listed on their Army Sheet, they may only select the front or back face of the map on their assigned table.<\/p>\n

      Maps Provided by WizKids<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

      The maps on the tables will be a limited assortment\u00a0of a random selection of maps from the Map Menu.\u00a0 WizKids does not guarantee to have any one specific map available for use.\u00a0 If a player wants to use a specific map from the map menu, they should bring that map with them to the event.<\/p>\n

      HeroClix Premium Maps<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

      During each round of every HeroClix Qualifier or Championship, once players are seated, ten tables will be randomly selected and players at those tables will be given the opportunity to play on one of four HeroClix Premium Maps.<\/p>\n

      When players at these tables are selecting a map to play on, they may select to use the HeroClix Premium Map offered (see below under\u00a0HeroClix Premium Maps<\/em>\u00a0in Map Menu), instead of choosing a normal map. If a HeroClix Premium Map is selected in this way, the player who wins the match gets to keep the HeroClix Premium Map. If the player selecting the map does not wish to choose the HeroClix Premium Map, they may still select a map from the maps listed on their Army Sheet or use either face of the map on their assigned table, but neither player will win the Premium Map that was offered.<\/p>\n
