The Storyline OP\u00a0begin this June so be sure to visit the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/win.wizkids.com\/\"><strong>WizKids Info Network<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to find stores hosting official\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wizkids.com\/heroclix\/marvel-heroclix-civil-war-storyline-organized-play-series\/\"><strong>Marvel HeroClix: Civil War Storyline OP<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0events near you.<\/p>\n<p>These\u00a0<strong>Marvel HeroClix: Civil War Storyline OP\u00a0<\/strong>events will be different from\u00a0previous OP\u00a0events as the set was designed and tailored to the characters and their factions\u00a0. Each\u00a0<strong>Civil War<\/strong>\u00a0five-figure booster pack contains characters from the Pro-Registration, Anti-Registration, and Neutral factions.\u00a0 Each character\u2019s HeroClix base is colored to denote their faction:\u00a0 Pro-Registration characters are red, Anti-Registration characters are blue, and Neutral characters have black bases.\u00a0 For the\u00a0<strong>Civil War<\/strong>\u00a0Storyline OP set, the characters numbered #001 to #032 were designed in \u201cpairs\u201d of figures that have a similar point cost.\u00a0 All the odd-numbered figures are part of\u00a0<strong>Captain America<\/strong>\u2019s team while the members of\u00a0<strong>Iron Man<\/strong>\u2019s team are even numbered. This character balance will come into play during your\u00a0team\u00a0drafting\u00a0at the events.<\/p>\n<p>How about we start things off by taking a look at the first pairing of characters in the\u00a0<strong>Marvel HeroClix:\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Civil War Storyline OP<\/strong>\u00a0set?\u00a0 First up is\u00a0<strong>Captain America<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV2016-001-Captain-America.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-17641 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV2016-001-Captain-America.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 524px) 100vw, 524px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV2016-001-Captain-America.jpg 1200x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV2016-001-Captain-America-300x160.jpg 300x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV2016-001-Captain-America-768x408.jpg 768x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV2016-001-Captain-America-1024x544.jpg 1024x\" alt=\"Marvel HeroClix: Civil War Storyline OP - Captain America 001\" width=\"524\" height=\"279\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Captain America<\/strong>\u00a0comes in at 80 points and has the standard movement, attack, and damage symbols.\u00a0 He also has the Indomitable defense symbol, which lets him act on consecutive turns without fear of taking pushing damage.\u00a0<strong>Captain America\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0Improved Movement ability called\u00a0<em>Soldiering On<\/em>, lets him ignore hindering terrain and characters when he moves. As the leader of the Anti-Registration forces,\u00a0<strong>Captain America<\/strong>\u00a0has the Anti-Registration keyword along with Avengers and\u00a0<em>Soldier<\/em>\u00a0to aid you if you choose to include him on a keyword-themed team.<\/p>\n<p>Moving on to traits and powers,\u00a0<strong>Captain America<\/strong>\u00a0hits the battlefield with a trait called\u00a0<em>Just A Friendly Handshake<\/em>, which he can only use once per game.\u00a0<em>Just a Friendly Handshake<\/em>\u00a0allows\u00a0<strong>Captain America<\/strong>\u00a0to neutralize\u00a0<em>Armor<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em>Robot<\/em>\u00a0characters, like Iron Man, for a turn by giving them two action tokens when he hits them with an attack while adjacent.\u00a0<strong>Captain America<\/strong>\u00a0also has special powers in his defense and damage slots, respectively.\u00a0 In his defense slot is a special power called\u00a0<em>Blocking Repulsor Blasts<\/em>, which lets\u00a0<strong>Captain America<\/strong>\u00a0use\u00a0<em>Energy Shield\/Deflection<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Toughness,\u00a0<\/em>while also preventing characters from attacking him with<em>\u00a0Ranged Combat Expert<\/em>.\u00a0<strong>Captain America\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0<em>Energy Shield\/Deflection<\/em>\u00a0and immunity to\u00a0<em>Ranged Combat Expert<\/em>\u00a0from\u00a0<em>Blocking Repulsor Blasts<\/em>\u00a0help him get into battle even if he is being attacked at range. The special power in\u00a0<strong>Captain America<\/strong>\u2019s damage slot is called\u00a0<em>Leading the Resistance<\/em>\u00a0which lets him use\u00a0<em>Close Combat Expert<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Leadership<\/em>\u00a0as if he were 100 points.<\/p>\n<p>The remainder of\u00a0<strong>Captain America<\/strong>\u2019s dial features standard powers like\u00a0<em>Sidestep<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Flurry<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Charge<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Precision Strike<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Toughness<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Combat Reflexes<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Outwit<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Captain America<\/strong>\u00a0also has a solid set of combat values with attack numbers that never dip below 10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Captain America<\/strong>\u00a0can easily hold his own in close combat but also has a flexible range of five squares to shoot as needed.\u00a0 Conversely, his Pro-Registration counterpart in the\u00a0<strong>Marvel HeroClix:\u00a0Civil War Storyline Organized Play<\/strong>\u00a0set is a better shooter but can also throw a punch when an opponent gets too close.\u00a0 Let\u2019s take a look at\u00a0<strong>Iron Man<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV2016-002-Iron-Man.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-17642\" src=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV2016-002-Iron-Man.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 524px) 100vw, 524px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV2016-002-Iron-Man.jpg 1200x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV2016-002-Iron-Man-300x160.jpg 300x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV2016-002-Iron-Man-768x408.jpg 768x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV2016-002-Iron-Man-1024x544.jpg 1024x\" alt=\"Marvel HeroClix: Civil War Storyline OP - Iron Man 002\" width=\"524\" height=\"279\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also coming in at 80 points but with the ability to shoot a single target six squares away,\u00a0<strong>Iron Man<\/strong>\u00a0has the standard attack and damage symbols and the Indomitable defense symbol.\u00a0 He also has the wing speed symbol, which lets him fly and carry teammates.\u00a0 As the head of the Pro-Registration faction,\u00a0<strong>Iron Man<\/strong>\u00a0has the Pro-Registration keyword along with\u00a0<em>Armor<\/em>, Avengers, Illuminati, S.H.I.E.L.D., and\u00a0<em>Scientist<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>As for traits and powers,\u00a0<strong>Iron Man<\/strong>\u00a0enters play with a trait called\u00a0<em>I Wanted to Talk, But\u2026<\/em>\u00a0which can be used once per game when\u00a0<strong>Iron Man<\/strong>\u00a0targets a single opposing character with an attack.\u00a0 If\u00a0<strong>Iron Man<\/strong>\u00a0shares a keyword with the target, he may counter that character\u2019s defense power for the attack. With a lot of Avengers keyword characters involved in the\u00a0<strong>Marvel HeroClix:\u00a0Civil War Storyline OP<\/strong>, there are a lot of targets for this ability. Like\u00a0<strong>Captain America<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Iron Man<\/strong>\u00a0has special powers in his defense and damage slots.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Iron Man<\/strong>\u2019s defensive special power,\u00a0<em>Your Shield Can\u2019t Scratch Me, Steve<\/em>, lets him use\u00a0<em>Impervious<\/em>. Additionally,\u00a0<strong>Iron Man<\/strong>\u00a0can\u2019t be targeted by an attack using\u00a0<em>Close Combat Expert\u00a0<\/em>if any characters get too close.\u00a0<strong>Iron Man<\/strong>\u2019s damage special power\u00a0<em>We Must Follow and Implement the Law<\/em>, allows him to use\u00a0<em>Ranged Combat Expert<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Leadership<\/em>\u00a0as if he were 100 points.<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out\u00a0<strong>Iron Man<\/strong>\u2019s dial are the standard powers\u00a0<em>Sidestep<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Force Blast<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Energy Explosion<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Toughness<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Energy Shield\/Deflection<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Outwit<\/em>.\u00a0 As for combat values,\u00a0<strong>Iron Man<\/strong>\u00a0has slightly higher speed numbers than\u00a0<strong>Captain America<\/strong>\u00a0but his attack values taper a bit toward the end of his dial.\u00a0 Defense and damage values match on both characters as well.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for reading!\u00a0 Join us again as we reveal more exciting characters and highlight strategies and team builds from the\u00a0<strong>Marvel HeroClix: Civil War<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Storyline OP<\/strong>\u00a0set.\u00a0Don\u2019t forget to mark your calendars as events kick off this June!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Greetings HeroClix Fans!
