Greetings, HeroClix fans! Today, we\u2019re taking another look into the figures from the\u00a0Marvel HeroClix:\u00a0<\/strong>Uncanny X-Men<\/strong>\u00a0set! The X-Men have a long history featuring strong female characters, so we\u2019re putting together a 300-point team with some of our favorite X-Women!<\/p>\n

Up first is one of the newer additions to the ranks of the X-Men, but is no less deserving to be on the team \u2013 the winged mutant known as\u00a0Pixie!\u00a0<\/strong>A 75-point piece,\u00a0Pixie<\/strong>\u00a0features both the \u00ad\u2013Mystics\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0X-Men<\/em>\u00a0team abilities. She also features a trait called\u00a0Pixie Dust,<\/em>\u00a0which allows her to use\u00a0Smoke Cloud<\/em>\u00a0as a free action, however, she\u2019s only allowed to place 1 Hindering Terrain Marker. Characters occupying that Hindering Marker modify their defense values by -1, in addition to attack values.\u00a0Pixie<\/strong>\u00a0also brings two special powers \u2013 the first appears on her first and last click, called\u00a0TeleportSpell<\/em>. This ability allows\u00a0Pixie<\/strong>\u00a0to use\u00a0Phasing\/Teleport<\/em>. When she does, she can carry up to 2 characters with the Wing movement symbol; instead, she may carry 4 characters if they all have the\u00a0X-Men<\/em>\u00a0keyword. On the middle three clicks of her dial, on attack, lies the special power\u00a0Soul Dagger<\/em>. This power states that\u00a0Pixie<\/strong>\u00a0can use\u00a0Blades\/Claws\/Fangs<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Precision Strike.\u00a0<\/em>Her standard powers include the abilities\u00a0Charge, Sidestep, Super Senses, Energy Shield\/Deflection, Perplex,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Support.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

Our first X-Women teammate for\u00a0Pixie<\/strong>\u00a0is\u00a0X-23,\u00a0<\/strong>who \u2013 as a clone of Wolverine \u2013 specializes in close combat. Laura starts with a trait called\u00a0Healing Factor<\/em>, which states that when\u00a0X-23<\/strong>\u00a0clears her action tokens, you may heal her of 1 click of damage. Now,\u00a0X-23<\/strong>\u00a0is\u00a0Indomitable<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 so you\u2019re left in a bit of a catch-22 here \u2013 do you push her to get an extra attack, or clear her to give her more health? She also brings two special attacks to the fight \u2013 first, on her 1st\u00a0and 4th\u00a0clicks of movement, is\u00a0Furious Charge<\/em>, which states that\u00a0X-23\u00a0<\/strong>can use\u00a0Charge<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Flurry.\u00a0<\/em>Her second special power is on her first 3 clicks of attack, and is called\u00a0Adamantium Claws<\/em>. This power states that\u00a0X-23<\/strong>\u00a0can use\u00a0Blades\/Claws\/Fangs<\/em>, and when she does, if the result is a 1-2, you may reroll that result once per turn. Her standard powers are no joke either, with\u00a0Sidestep, Stealth, Blades\/Claws\/Fangs, Toughness, Super Senses, Empower, Exploit Weakness<\/em>, and\u00a0Perplex.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0\"Marvel<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

The next member of our X-Women quartet is the uncommon Prime figure from this set,\u00a0Kitty Pryde!<\/strong>\u00a0This version of\u00a0Kitty\u00a0<\/strong>is from her time with the\u00a0Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em>, but she was still a loyal member of the X-Men! Across her entire 6-click dial,\u00a0Kitty<\/strong>\u00a0features a special movement power called\u00a0Phasing Attack<\/em>, which states that\u00a0Kitty Pryde<\/strong>\u00a0can use both\u00a0Phasing\/Teleport<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Stealth.\u00a0<\/em>Additionally, when she uses\u00a0Phasing\/Teleport,\u00a0<\/em>after actions resolve, she may make a close attack targeting all characters whose square she moved through \u2013 and, hit characters are given an action token instead of normal damage!\u00a0Kitty Pryde<\/strong>also has a STOP click on her defense called\u00a0Injured but Still Here<\/em>, which states that in addition to the dial stopping,\u00a0Kitty Pryde\u00a0<\/strong>can also use\u00a0Willpower.\u00a0<\/em>On top of those powers,\u00a0Kitty<\/strong>\u00a0can also use\u00a0Super Senses, Willpower<\/em>, and\u00a0Exploit Weakness.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

Finally, we come to\u00a0Storm<\/strong>\u2014this common version of the weather goddess brings a lot to the table for a mere 50 points. First is her trait,\u00a0All-New, All-Different X-Men<\/em>, which is a unique modifier that states that when\u00a0Storm<\/strong>\u00a0is healed by the X-Men team ability, you will also modify her combat values by +1 until your next turn. She also has a special power on her first two clicks of life called\u00a0Localized Weather<\/em>, which allows\u00a0Storm<\/strong>\u00a0to use\u00a0Smoke Cloud<\/em>\u00a0as a free action \u2013 this combos incredibly well with her\u00a0Flight<\/em>\u00a0ability, as well as her own natural\u00a0Stealth<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 she can carry in\u00a0X-23\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0Kitty Pryde,\u00a0<\/strong>land, and then immediately cloak both herself and them in smoke, effectively hiding them from view of your enemies! She also has\u00a0Sidestep, Pulse Wave, Energy Shield\/Deflection<\/em>, and\u00a0Perplex<\/em>\u00a0on her dial to round herself out.<\/p>\n
