Greetings HeroClix Fans!<\/p>\n

We hope you\u2019ve been enjoying our series of previews for the\u00a0Marvel HeroClix: Uncanny X-Men<\/strong>\u00a0set and were able to participate in our Pre-Release events. If you missed out on the Pre-Release events, we encourage you to find Organized Play tournaments at a venue near you by visiting the\u00a0WizKids Info Network<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Today, we\u2019re pleased to present to you a Giant-Size X-Men Team Building exercise where we\u2019ll create a senses-shattering 300-point force that includes characters featured on the cover of the\u00a0Giant-Size X-Men #1<\/em>! By design, each member of our force has a point value of 50, which lets us field an even, no-nonsense team of six characters on the battlefield. Each character on our force also has a trait called\u00a0All-New, All-Different X-Men<\/em>, which boosts a character\u2019s combat values (except for damage) by +1 until your next turn when it is healed by the X-Men team ability.\u00a0All-New, All-Different X-Men<\/em>\u00a0is a Unique Modifier, which means a character\u2019s combat values can\u2019t be modified more than once through the trait\u2019s effect.<\/p>\n

The first member of our Giant-Size X-Men force is the Bavarian teleporter,\u00a0Nightcrawler<\/strong>! Like the rest of his teammates on this force,\u00a0Nightcrawler<\/strong>\u00a0has the X-Men team ability and keyword. He also has the\u00a0Martial Artist<\/em>\u00a0keyword to offer you an additional option for themed team building.\u00a0Nightcrawler<\/strong>\u2019s role on your force is to roam the map, tying up opposing characters and making attacks as needed. To help him do this, his dial features a special power called\u00a0*BAMF*<\/em>\u00a0which lets you place him in any square within his line of fire. If that square is within four squares of the one in which he began his action, he may then make a close attack.\u00a0Precision Strike<\/em>\u00a0allows Nightcrawler to get some of the damage he deals past opposing defenses. The rest of\u00a0Nightcrawler<\/strong>\u2019s dial features standard powers that make him difficult to hit or pin down:\u00a0Phasing\/Teleport, Combat Reflexes, Super Senses,<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Shape Change<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

Charging in next to\u00a0Nightcrawler<\/strong>\u00a0on the cover of\u00a0Giant-Size X-Men #1<\/em>\u00a0is\u00a0Thunderbird<\/strong>! Playing the role of tertiary attacker on your force,\u00a0Thunderbird<\/strong>\u00a0begins play with a trait called\u00a0His Death Remembered<\/em>, which can either heal his teammates 1 click or modify their combat values by +1 until the end of your next turn when he is KO\u2019d.\u00a0Thunderbird<\/strong>\u2019s specialty is close combat so his power set includes\u00a0Sidestep, Charge, Super Strength, Toughness, Willpower,<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Close Combat Expert<\/em>.\u00a0(Spoiler Alert)\u00a0<\/em>Thunderbird<\/strong>\u00a0died on the new X-Men team\u2019s second mission so to represent his sacrifice, he has a special power late in his dial called\u00a0Punching a Fighter Jet<\/em>. This power lets\u00a0Thunderbird<\/strong>\u00a0use\u00a0Exploit Weakness<\/em>, but when he does, he\u2019s KO\u2019ed after actions resolve.\u00a0Punching a Fighter Jet<\/em>\u00a0is paired with\u00a0Super Strength<\/em>\u00a0on\u00a0Thunderbird<\/strong>\u2019s dial so his damage output late in the game makes him a formidable opponent. In addition to the\u00a0X-Men<\/em>\u00a0team ability and keyword,\u00a0Thunderbird<\/strong>\u00a0has the\u00a0Soldier<\/em>\u00a0keyword.<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

Next up on our force is the X-Men\u2019s big bruiser,\u00a0Colossus<\/strong>!\u00a0Colossus<\/strong>\u2019 dial features only standard powers but his power layout is aggressive, with\u00a0Charge, Super Strength, Invincible<\/em>\u00a0and high attack values to start things out. The rest of his dial is rounded out with\u00a0Sidestep, Invulnerability and Toughness<\/em>.\u00a0Colossus<\/strong>\u00a0has consistent damage values and the rest of his combat numbers are steady as well. Make sure to keep light and heavy objects within\u00a0Colossus<\/strong>\u2019 reach early in the game to take advantage of his top-click combination of\u00a0Charge<\/em>and\u00a0Super Strength<\/em>\u00a0and dish out extra damage. Like\u00a0Nightcrawler<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Thunderbird, Colossus<\/strong>\u00a0has the\u00a0X-Men<\/em>\u00a0team ability and keyword. His secondary keyword is\u00a0Armor<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

So far, each member of our Giant-Size X-Men force has been a close combatant. Our next member,\u00a0Storm<\/strong>, gives our team some ranged punch.\u00a0Storm<\/strong>\u00a0can shoot a single target up to six squares away. Our previous three team members have the standard speed, attack, defense and damage symbols.\u00a0Storm<\/strong>\u00a0breaks that trend by having the wing speed symbol, which lets her use the\u00a0Flight<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Carry<\/em>\u00a0abilities.\u00a0Storm<\/strong>\u2019s dial is highlighted by a special power called\u00a0Localized Weather<\/em>, which lets her use\u00a0Smoke Cloud<\/em>\u00a0as a free action.\u00a0Localized Weather<\/em>\u00a0is paired on\u00a0Storm<\/strong>\u2019s dial with\u00a0Stealth<\/em>, making her a difficult target for opponents to draw lines of fire. The rest of\u00a0Storm<\/strong>\u2019s dial features Sidestep, Pulse Wave, Perplex<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Energy Shield\/Deflection<\/em>.\u00a0Deity<\/em>\u00a0is\u00a0Storm<\/strong>\u2019s secondary keyword.<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

Sticking with characters that can shoot, we\u2019ve come to the X-Men\u2019s field leader,\u00a0Cyclops<\/strong>! The leader of our force,\u00a0Cyclops<\/strong>\u00a0can shoot a single target up to seven squares away and comes into play with a trait called\u00a0Field Leader of the X-Men<\/em>, which lets him use\u00a0Leadership<\/em>. Additionally, if he uses\u00a0Leadership<\/em>\u00a0and succeeds, he can use\u00a0Probability Control<\/em>\u00a0until your next turn.\u00a0Cyclops<\/strong>\u2019 power set reflects his ability to shoot and features\u00a0Ranged Combat Expert, Penetrating\/Psychic Blast<\/em>, and\u00a0Running Shot<\/em>.\u00a0Sidestep<\/em>\u00a0helps him stay on the move while\u00a0Willpower<\/em>\u00a0keeps him from taking pushing damage.\u00a0Cyclops<\/strong>\u00a0has a consistent set of combat values which see a slight uptick offensively toward the end of his dial.<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

X-Men<\/em>\u00a0is the only keyword available to\u00a0Cyclops<\/strong>, but that\u2019s not the case with the final member of our force,\u00a0Wolverine<\/strong>! Like the rest of his teammates,\u00a0Wolverine<\/strong>\u00a0has the\u00a0X-Men<\/em>\u00a0team ability and keyword. Additionally, he has the\u00a0Alpha Flight<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Weapon X<\/em>\u00a0keywords.\u00a0Wolverine<\/strong>\u2019s main mutant powers, his adamantium claws and healing factor, are showcased on his dial through\u00a0Blades\/Claws\/Fangs<\/em>\u00a0on each of his clicks and a trait, appropriately called\u00a0Healing Factor<\/em>, which lets him heal a click when he clears action tokens.\u00a0Wolverine<\/strong>becomes more wild and aggressive as the game progresses, thanks to a power set that includes\u00a0Charge, Flurry, Combat Reflexes, Toughness<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Battle Fury<\/em>. His speed, defense and damage values take a dip toward the end of his dial but his attack values see a significant increase.\u00a0Wolverine<\/strong>\u2019s potential damage output makes him a vital part of this force, and he should see plenty of play on other teams as well.<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

And there you have it! Our Giant-Size X-Men team\u00a0should be a viable force in both constructed and sealed play, and will hopefully earn you points among your peers in the comic accuracy and fun departments. Let\u00a0Colossus, Wolverine<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Thunderbird<\/strong>\u00a0handle all your heavy hitting up front while\u00a0Storm<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Cyclops<\/strong>hang back and shoot. Meanwhile,\u00a0Nightcrawler<\/strong>\u00a0can play tie-up and attack as needed.<\/p>\n
