{"id":5572,"date":"2016-05-04T18:21:34","date_gmt":"2016-05-04T18:21:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/67272bb316.nxcli.io\/heroclix\/?p=5572"},"modified":"2017-01-03T19:43:47","modified_gmt":"2017-01-03T19:43:47","slug":"marvel-heroclix-uncanny-x-men-marauders-team-building","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wizkids.com\/heroclix\/2016\/05\/04\/marvel-heroclix-uncanny-x-men-marauders-team-building\/","title":{"rendered":"Marvel HeroClix: Uncanny X-Men- Marauders Team Building"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-1 nonhundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" style=\"--awb-border-radius-top-left:0px;--awb-border-radius-top-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-left:0px;--awb-flex-wrap:wrap;\" ><div class=\"fusion-builder-row fusion-row\"><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-0 fusion_builder_column_1_1 1_1 fusion-one-full fusion-column-first fusion-column-last\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;--awb-margin-bottom:0px;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-column-wrapper-legacy\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-1\"><p>Greetings HeroClix Fans!<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate today\u2019s release, we have a team building and strategy article featuring characters from the new\u00a0<strong>Marvel HeroClix:\u00a0Uncanny X-Men<\/strong>\u00a05 figure booster set with the\u00a0<em>Marauders<\/em>\u00a0keyword.<\/p>\n<p>This set offers a plethora of mid to low point options for building a versatile team in the standard 300 point format.\u00a0 There are 14 figures in the\u00a0<strong>Marvel HeroClix:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Uncanny X-Men<\/strong>\u00a0set alone that have the\u00a0<em>Marauders<\/em>keyword so let\u2019s focus in on a few of them and build a team that covers all the basic utilities that make up a well-rounded 300 point HeroClix force.<\/p>\n<p>First, here is what the team build looks like, point values listed before the character:<\/p>\n<p><strong>95 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mister Sinister<br \/>\n75\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sabretooth<br \/>\n60 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 John Greycrow<br \/>\n40 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Vanisher<br \/>\n30 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Scrambler<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>300 Total points<br \/>\n+5 to Initiative Map Roll, 3 uses of Themed Team Probability Control\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>First, it should be noted that most of the members of this team have the\u00a0<em>Mutant Massacre\u00a0<\/em>trait which lets you either increase certain combat values on whoever possesses the trait, or heal them of 1 damage after an opposing character is KO\u2019d for the first time on any of your turns.\u00a0 You make this choice for each character with the trait after actions resolve, so plan your actions carefully and you can KO an opposing piece and set up the rest of your team for better attacks or heal some or all of them up a click.\u00a0 Don\u2019t be afraid to push if it means you can get to that first KO in a turn;\u00a0<em>Mutant Massacre<\/em>\u00a0can heal your pushing damage!<\/p>\n<p>Now, on to team building.\u00a0 Most well rounded teams have a primary and perhaps a secondary close or range focused attackers, a tie-up or disruption piece, a team transport or placement piece, and\/or a piece occupying a supporting role.\u00a0 With these five characters we pretty much hit all of the bases.<\/p>\n<p>Considering all of the pieces from highest to lowest point value we\u2019ll start with the team leader and creator of the Marauders,\u00a0<strong>Mr. Sinister<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-060-Mister-Sinister.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-17609 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-060-Mister-Sinister.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 524px) 100vw, 524px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-060-Mister-Sinister.jpg 1200x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-060-Mister-Sinister-300x160.jpg 300x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-060-Mister-Sinister-768x408.jpg 768x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-060-Mister-Sinister-1024x544.jpg 1024x\" alt=\"Marvel HeroClix: Uncanny X-Men Marauders - Mister Sinister\" width=\"524\" height=\"279\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mr. Sinister<\/strong>\u00a0fills multiple roles at once; so much so that he can almost be whatever you need him to be at any given moment.\u00a0 Starting with\u00a0<em>Stealth\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Penetrating\/Psychic Blast<\/em>, a respectable attack and damage value, and a 6 square range value he can make a solid primary or secondary ranged attacker. Or, you can use his special power on damage\u00a0<em>Get Back In The Fight<\/em>\u00a0to put him in more of a team boosting and support role.\u00a0 With that power he can use<em>\u00a0Leadership\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Support\u00a0<\/em>but when he uses\u00a0<em>Support\u00a0<\/em>and heals a character with the\u00a0<em>Marauders<\/em>\u00a0keyword, after actions resolve he can exchange the places of the healed character and another friendly<em>\u00a0Maruaders<\/em>\u00a0keyword character within 8 squares of himself.\u00a0 Healing someone and getting them back onto the front lines can make a crucial difference in almost any game of HeroClix.<\/p>\n<p>Next up we have our two main attack pieces,\u00a0<strong>Sabretooth\u00a0<\/strong>for primary up close fighting and\u00a0<strong>John Greycrow<\/strong>for secondary ranged attack back up.\u00a0 Both characters have the\u00a0<em>Mutant Massacre<\/em>\u00a0trait so don\u2019t be shy about pushing either of them to make a hit.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Sabretooth\u00a0<\/strong>gets into the fight with<em>\u00a0Charge<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Toughness<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Battle Fury<\/em>, and a special attack power\u00a0<em>Massacres Are My Specialty<\/em>\u00a0that lets him use\u00a0<em>Blades\/Claws\/Fangs,\u00a0<\/em>and if given a close action he can make any number of close attacks against adjacent opposing characters, though each character can only be targeted once.\u00a0 That means he can charge into a large grouping of opposing characters and attack each one once while rolling a D6 to determine his damage with each attack.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-031-Sabretooth.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-17611 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-031-Sabretooth.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 524px) 100vw, 524px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-031-Sabretooth.jpg 1200x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-031-Sabretooth-300x160.jpg 300x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-031-Sabretooth-768x408.jpg 768x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-031-Sabretooth-1024x544.jpg 1024x\" alt=\"Marvel HeroClix: Uncanny X-Men Marauders - Sabretooth\" width=\"524\" height=\"279\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While\u00a0<strong>Sabretooth<\/strong>\u00a0is tearing up the main bulk of the opposing team,\u00a0<strong>John Greycrow<\/strong>\u00a0can use\u00a0<em>Running Shot\u00a0<\/em>with\u00a0his long 7 range reach to stay back, and make use of his trait,\u00a0<em>Making Weapons To Hunt.<\/em>\u00a0<em>Making Weapons To Hunt<\/em>\u00a0lets him take a power action to equip a standard object token in the same or an adjacent square and either gain the use of\u00a0<em>Precision Strike<\/em>\u00a0if it\u2019s a light object or\u00a0<em>Penetrating\/Psychic Blast<\/em>\u00a0if it\u2019s a heavy object.\u00a0 So whether you need to bust through damage reducing powers, or circumvent\u00a0<em>Super Senses\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0<em>Mastermind,<\/em>\u00a0<strong>John Greycrow<\/strong>\u00a0will keep some of the heat off of\u00a0<strong>Sabretooth,\u00a0<\/strong>or KO an opposing character\u00a0to trigger\u00a0<em>Mutant Massacre<\/em>\u00a0while having<strong>\u00a0Sabretooth<\/strong>\u00a0get to work with his potential 13 attack value!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-017-John-Greycrow.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-17613 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-017-John-Greycrow.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 524px) 100vw, 524px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-017-John-Greycrow.jpg 1200x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-017-John-Greycrow-300x160.jpg 300x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-017-John-Greycrow-768x408.jpg 768x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-017-John-Greycrow-1024x544.jpg 1024x\" alt=\"Marvel HeroClix: Uncanny X-Men Marauders - John Greycrow\" width=\"524\" height=\"279\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After our main attackers we have to consider how the team is going to be getting around.\u00a0 That is where\u00a0<strong>Vanisher<\/strong>\u00a0comes in.\u00a0 Though he lacks the\u00a0<em>Mutant Massacre<\/em>\u00a0trait, he does have the<em>\u00a0Brotherhood of Mutants<\/em>team ability that lets him take a move action that does not count against your standard number of actions each turn. He also has the special movement power\u00a0<em>Into the Darkforce<\/em>\u00a0that lets him use\u00a0<em>Phasing\/Teleport<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Stealth<\/em>, and gain the ability to carry up to three characters.\u00a0 With a very large 12 movement, he can carry\u00a0<strong>Mr. Sinister<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>John Greycrow<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Scrambler<\/strong>\u00a0into position right on your first turn!\u00a0 (Remember, he cannot carry<strong>Sabretooth<\/strong>\u00a0because of\u00a0<em>Battle Fury<\/em>).\u00a0 You can start to see that\u00a0<strong>Vanisher\u00a0<\/strong>synergizes very well with his\u00a0<em>Maruaders<\/em>\u00a0teammates if you keep him close to\u00a0<strong>Mr. Sinister<\/strong>.\u00a0 Push\u00a0<strong>Vanisher<\/strong>\u00a0but stay close to\u00a0<strong>Mr.\u00a0Sinister<\/strong>; that way if\u00a0<strong>Sabretooth\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0<strong>John Greycrow<\/strong>\u00a0are severely damaged you can use\u00a0<strong>Mr.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Sinister<\/strong>\u00a0to heal\u00a0<strong>Vanisher\u00a0<\/strong>with\u00a0<em>Support<\/em>\u00a0and switch places with his more wounded teammate thanks to\u00a0<em>Get Back In The Fight<\/em>.\u00a0 Then, on a following turn,\u00a0<strong>Mr.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Sinister\u00a0<\/strong>can heal them too and switch with\u00a0<strong>Vanisher<\/strong>\u00a0again to return them to the fray.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-018-Vanisher.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-17614 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-018-Vanisher.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 524px) 100vw, 524px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-018-Vanisher.jpg 1200x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-018-Vanisher-300x160.jpg 300x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-018-Vanisher-768x408.jpg 768x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-018-Vanisher-1024x544.jpg 1024x\" alt=\"Marvel HeroClix: Uncanny X-Men Marauders - Vanisher\" width=\"524\" height=\"279\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lastly we have our support\/disruption piece,\u00a0<strong>Scrambler<\/strong>. He has\u00a0<em>Stealth<\/em>\u00a0and a special\u00a0<em>Outwit<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Just One Touch<\/em>, that can only be used to target adjacent opposing characters regardless of line of fire, but cancels all powers currently showing on their dial.\u00a0 There is no doubt about it,\u00a0<strong>Scrambler<\/strong>\u00a0has to get close to the action to have any effect at all and won\u2019t be doing a lot of damage himself, if any; but for 30 points he is an expert at scrambling an opponent\u2019s plans and is the perfect piece to receive an action token for using a\u00a0<strong>Themed Team Probability Control<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-015-Scrambler.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-17615 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-015-Scrambler.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 524px) 100vw, 524px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-015-Scrambler.jpg 1200x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-015-Scrambler-300x160.jpg 300x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-015-Scrambler-768x408.jpg 768x, http:\/\/heroclix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/MV27-UCX-015-Scrambler-1024x544.jpg 1024x\" alt=\"Marvel HeroClix: Uncanny X-Men Marauders - Scrambler\" width=\"524\" height=\"279\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So there you have it, a tightly knit and synergistic 300 point\u00a0<em>Marauders<\/em>\u00a0keyword Themed Team is ready to rampage the Morlock Tunnels and find Mr. Sinister some more mutant DNA with which to experiment, if only those pesky and insignificant X-Men don\u2019t interfere!
