Greetings HeroClix Masterminds!<\/p>\n

Since we announced two new formats<\/a> earlier this month, we have been thrilled to see the way players have started theory crafting around them. Pulp especially has taken off, and many of you have reached out to us to ask for further clarifications on the format.\u00a0 We\u2019ve put together some of the most frequently asked questions below.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Q: What rarities are allowed in Pulp?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

A:<\/strong> Common, Uncommon, and Rare figures that are not primes, as defined by their white, green, or silver rarity tabs. Some figures with a Limited Edition rarity, such as those figures using Legacy Cards, may have a white, green, or silver tab, but they are not legal in Pulp.<\/em><\/p>\n

Q: Are Team Up cards legal in Pulp?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

A:<\/strong> No. In Pulp characters are restricted to only their base cards.<\/em><\/p>\n

Q: Can your team have a Sideline in Pulp?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

A:<\/strong> Yes, teams in Pulp can use a standard Sideline of two elements per 100 points of the build total.<\/em><\/p>\n

Q: What makes a set a \u201cbooster set\u201d?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

A:<\/strong> Booster sets are any set sold as blind sealed product with packages containing 4 or 5 game figures, as well as any accessory products that share a set symbol with that set.<\/em><\/p>\n

Q: Are characters from Starter Sets, Fast Forces, and Miniatures Games legal?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

A:<\/strong> It depends! Some Starter Sets, Fast Forces, and Miniature Games are tied to booster sets, and share a set symbol, while others do not. As an example, The Marvel HeroClix: Spider-Man Beyond Amazing Miniatures Game shares a set symbol with the booster set Marvel HeroClix: Spider-Man Beyond Amazing, and is therefore legal in Pulp. On the other hand, the Marvel HeroClix: Fantastic Four Cosmic Clash Starter Set does not share a set symbol with any booster set, so its figures are not legal in Pulp.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>

As Pulp grows, we will be keeping a close watch on what figures are doing too well in the format. Internal testing, as well as emails sent to us by concerned players, have turned up two figures that will likely have a detrimental effect on the meta. We are therefore banning the following figures in official Pulp events:<\/p>\n
