This walking terror from the former Soviet Union is a 90 point close combat power house.\u00a0\u00a0Omega Red<\/strong>\u00a0uses the carbonadium coils embedded in his arms like whips and tentacle snares and can also drain the life right out of his victims to boost his own powers.\u00a0 Reflecting that, his trait\u00a0Energy Vampire<\/em>\u00a0has him starting the game on his green line at click #3 and grants him the use of\u00a0Steal Energy<\/em>\u00a0and the ability to heal past his green starting line when he does.\u00a0 His other trait,\u00a0Deadly Coils<\/em>\u00a0gives him the\u00a0Giant Reach<\/em>\u00a0ability which he can use to make close attacks within\u00a03<\/em>\u00a0squares.\u00a0 Also, when he hits a character with a close attack he can place them adjacent to him at the end of the action.<\/p>\n Omega Red\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0dial starts off ready to grab an opponent and drain their life away with\u00a0Charge\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Exploit<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 from up to three squares away thanks to his trait \u2013 plus\u00a0Poison<\/em>, and\u00a0Toughness<\/em>\u00a0on defense with very respectable combat values.\u00a0 If\u00a0Omega Red<\/strong>\u00a0hits and heals using\u00a0Steal Energy<\/em>\u00a0from this trait his numbers stay the same but his defense improves to\u00a0Invulnerability<\/em>.\u00a0 If he heals with\u00a0Steal Energy\u00a0<\/em>again his topmost click gives him some truly monstrous combat values.\u00a0 If, instead of healing and getting more powerful, he takes some damage he\u2019ll drop the\u00a0Toughness\u00a0<\/em>for boosting his defense value with\u00a0Combat Reflexes<\/em>\u00a0and switch back and forth between\u00a0Plasticity<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Charge<\/em>.\u00a0 His last click is his weakest combat click but it also gives him another option to heal damage with\u00a0Regeneration<\/em>.<\/p>\n This figure demonstrates some real synergy between powers.\u00a0 His two traits extend his close combat reach by a good measure and pull opponents closer so they can be poisoned when they aren\u2019t being slapped by penetrating close combat attacks.\u00a0 On top of that he can heal from his wounds and become nastier!<\/p>\n For most of\u00a0Omega Red\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0career he had been hunting down Wolverine, Sabretooth, Maverick, and others associated with Department H and Canada\u2019s Weapon X program.\u00a0 Here he gets the\u00a0Weapon X\u00a0<\/strong>keyword to represent not only his familiarity with his enemies but also his willingness to work with Sabretooth and others if it meant he could use them to get a shot at Wolverine or anyone else who might know where the Carbonadium Synthesizer is hidden, the one device that could cure his need to feed off of the life energy of others.<\/p>\n That\u2019s all for today, HeroClix fans!
