Welcome to another exciting preview from the upcoming\u00a0Marvel HeroClix: Uncanny X-Men\u00a0<\/strong>set! Today, we\u2019re looking at the shapeshifting femme fatale herself,\u00a0Mystique!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\"Marvel<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

At 60 points,\u00a0Mystique\u00a0<\/strong>is a low cost, high-impact character who possesses the\u00a0Brotherhood of Mutants<\/em>\u00a0team ability, a range of 4 squares, and the ability to be played on\u00a0Brotherhood of Mutants, Freedom Force, Marauders,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Spy<\/em>\u00a0teams. But let\u2019s take a look at her dial to see what niche she fits on any team.<\/p>\n

Up first are her traits. Her first trait, called\u00a0Freedom Force<\/em>, states that when this character is given a move action, after actions resolve she can use\u00a0Force Blast<\/em>\u00a0as a free action. The second trait\u00a0Mystique<\/strong>\u00a0possesses is a bit more nuanced, and is called\u00a0Shapeshifter<\/em>. This trait states that\u00a0Mystique<\/strong>\u00a0can use\u00a0Shape Change<\/em>, and begins the game with a Shapeshift Token on her Character Card. While she possesses a Shapeshift Token, she can use\u00a0Improved Movement \u2013 Ignores Characters<\/em>, and opposing characters can only target her if they began the turn adjacent to her. With that, when\u00a0Mystique<\/strong>\u00a0targets an opposing character with an attack, you remove all Shapeshift Tokens. However, when she succeeds using\u00a0Shape Change<\/em>, if she doesn\u2019t already have a Shapeshift Token on her card, you will then place one on her card.<\/p>\n

With those traits comes some significant standard powers, including\u00a0Sidestep, Stealth, Precision Strike, Willpower, Combat Reflexes, Leadership<\/em>, and\u00a0Close Combat Expert.\u00a0<\/em>And, while her dial might only be five clicks long, she really shines throughout with consistent values and good power placement.<\/p>\n
