Greetings HeroClix Fans!<\/p>\n

We hope you are ready for today\u2019s preview of the very X-citing upcoming\u00a0Marvel HeroClix:\u00a0The Uncanny X-Men\u00a0<\/strong>5-figure booster set!\u00a0 Starting us off is one time X-Men foe-turned-team leader\u00a0Emma Frost<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

Changing up her usual white wardrobe to dress in all black,\u00a0Emma<\/strong>\u00a0can be a strong addition to your team at 80 points.\u00a0 If you are into keywords, Emma Frost has 4 options for themed building;\u00a0Generation X<\/em>,\u00a0Hellfire Club<\/em>,\u00a0Hellions<\/em>, and\u00a0X-Men<\/em>.\u00a0 We\u2019ve seen a very similar set of powers and distribution of stats for several versions of\u00a0Emma<\/strong>\u00a0over the years, starting with a 5 range single target\u00a0Mind Control<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Super Senses<\/em>.\u00a0 This time she brings her head mistress status at the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters to the battle, and puts those keywords to work, with her special damage power\u00a0Teaching the Next Generation<\/em>; letting her use\u00a0Perplex<\/em>\u00a0but also allowing her to choose a combat value other than damage, and modify that value on all friendly characters within range that share a keyword with her regardless of line of fire.<\/p>\n

After 3 clicks of those powers with 10 attack and 3 damage she goes from being persuasive with her mental powers to being an offensive force dealing penetrating damage with 3 clicks of\u00a0Penetrating\/Psychic Blast<\/em>, the first of which coupled with\u00a0Running Shot<\/em>.\u00a0 She\u2019s not coy or na\u00efve in the least and keeps her defenses up with\u00a0Energy Shield\/Deflection<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Shape Change<\/em>.<\/p>\n

If she gets knocked low don\u2019t lose your cool, with the X-Men TA she can benefit from some healing from a friendly fellow X-Men\u2026 or you may have noticed her Costed Trait\u00a0Switch to Diamond Form in the Nick of Time<\/em>.\u00a0 For an additional 5 points when building your force, you may activate this trait with a sidelined\u00a0Emma Frost 005b prime<\/strong>. When\u00a0Emma Frost 005a\u00a0<\/strong>would be KO\u2019d you may instead replace her with the prime\u00a0Emma<\/strong>\u00a0on click #6!\u00a0 Speaking of the prime\u00a0Emma Frost<\/strong>, let\u2019s take a look at her card and dial.<\/p>\n

\"Marvel<\/a><\/p>\n

You\u2019ll notice right away this version of\u00a0Emma Frost<\/strong>\u00a0has her diamond skin form when her secondary mutation manifests. She drops her keywords to\u00a0Hellfire Club\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0X-Men<\/em>\u00a0but keeps the X-Men Team Ability.\u00a0\u00a0Emma\u2019s\u00a0<\/strong>secondary mutation drops her mental powers in favor of physical strength and durability and in being the \u2018diamond in the rough\u2019 of close combat.\u00a0 Her trait\u00a0Diamond Form<\/em>\u00a0keeps her safe from being heavily damaged by range focused opponents limiting her to taking a maximum of 1 damage from ranged attacks (Take that\u00a0Cyclops<\/strong>!\u00a0Emma<\/strong>\u00a0has your number!) and\u00a0Indomitable<\/em>\u00a0keeps her leading your team by example from the front.<\/p>\n

For all 6 clicks of her 125 point dial she\u2019ll be teaching some hard lessons opening with\u00a0Charge<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Super Strength<\/em>\u00a0combined with Impervious to help keep her safe.\u00a0\u00a0Her top dial\u00a0Outwit<\/em>\u00a0sets her apart from most close combat \u2018brick\u2019 type figures.\u00a0\u00a0Later in her dial, her defense power changes to\u00a0Invulnerability<\/em>\u00a0and she gains\u00a0Sidestep<\/em>\u00a0to be able to maneuver into a position to deal penetrating damage with her\u00a0Exploit Weakness<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Class isn\u2019t over yet!\u00a0\u00a0On her last click,\u00a0Emma<\/strong>\u00a0is graced with a STOP click that grants\u00a0Invulnerability<\/em>\u00a0and she returns to the same combination of\u00a0Charge, Super Strength<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Outwit<\/em>\u00a0that she had on has on her top two clicks.\u00a0\u00a0This is also the click you land on if you pay the 5 points for the common 005a\u00a0Emma Frost<\/strong>\u00a0to use her\u00a0Costed Trait<\/em>.<\/p>\n
