Welcome back to the continuing previews of the Wave 4 expansions for Star Trek: Attack Wing<\/em>.\u00a0 This time we take a closer look at the race from fluidic space: Species 8472 <\/em>featured in the Bioship Alpha Expansion pack<\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 At 38 points, Bioship Alpha<\/i> will be able to survive an opponent\u2019s volley of fire and return fire with a huge 6 attack!\u00a0 With that high of an attack, a player is sure to activate its special ability and add some insult to injury.\u00a0 Add on the Bioship Alpha Pilot<\/i> to \u201ctelepathically\u201d read your opponent\u2019s movement intentions and you begin to see why Species 8472 was feared even by the Borg.<\/p>\n

You will notice that the Action Bar of the Bioship Alpha<\/i><\/b> contains a new icon which allows the ship access to a new action: the Regenerate Action<\/strong>.\u00a0 A ship that performs the Regenerate Action immediately repairs 1 damage of its choice to its hull (critical or normal).\u00a0 A ship cannot attack during the round that it performs the Regenerate Action.\u00a0 With its fairly maneuverable movement dial, this will allow a player to get out of the fight and repair some critical damage that may be severely impeding the ship\u2019s effectiveness.<\/p>\n

\"STARSHIP-8472-BIOSHIP-ALPHA\" \"CAPTAIN-BIOSHIP-ALPHA\"<\/center><\/p>\n

There are several Upgrades created around the \u201corganic\u201d nature of Species 8472 in the Bioship Alpha Expansion pack<\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 Its Energy Blast<\/i> weapon upgrade will allow for a 7 die attack for some long range sniping.\u00a0 You can also create devastating salvos by making the Bioship Alpha<\/i> <\/b>your Energy Focusing Ship<\/i> to truly display the planet-shattering firepower of Species 8472.\u00a0 Need the ability to reroll your attack?\u00a0 Look no further than the Elite Talent upgrade: The Weak Will Perish<\/i>. If getting in close to your enemy is more your play style, then Biological Attack<\/i> is the weapon upgrade for you.<\/p>\n

\"ELITE-TALENT-THE-WEAK-WILL-PERISH\" \"WEAPON-BIOLOGICAL-ATTACK\"<\/center>The Tech upgrades in the expansion will definitely change the face of the battle.\u00a0 Extraordinary Immune Response <\/i>will make destroying your ship extremely difficult once your shields are down and you have taken a few hits to your hull.\u00a0 Bio-Electric Interference<\/i> is going to cause havoc to your opponent\u2019s action tokens and make their ships less effective for the round.\u00a0 Finally, Quantum Singularity<\/i> will allow a player to pop into and out of fluidic space, thus allowing a greater tactical control of the board.<\/p>\n
