Greetings HeroClix fans!
We are getting close to GenCon and hope to see many of you there! We’re also getting close to posting the new rules and Powers and Abilities Card (PAC), releasing with the Marvel HeroClix: The Mighty Thor Set on August 30th). The new rules are in effect when the Thor Set releases, and we wanted to let you know we are planning on releasing the rules and PAC online, August 21st (the Monday after GenCon, though it might slip a day due to travel). That same day, we’ll also post an article giving an overview of the new rules documents right here on HeroClix.com. In preparation, the rulings that are currently on the rules forum will be moved to a folder tentatively named, ‘Past Rules Archive’. The posts that are most relevant and don’t change with the new rules/PAC will then be copied back into a thread in the main folder (we estimate 10-20% of the posts will make the leap). Depending on the exact timing you may see this work begin before the release of the rules. Once they are released, we will focus exclusively on answering new rules questions for Modern Age. As you can imagine, there may be a flood of inquiries and we thank you for your patience as we work through them. The priorities will be to answer questions that affect the most players and are the easiest to answer. It is entirely possible that edge cases and questions about specific figs not seeing top-level play are delayed months. Once you have submitted, please wait at least 30 days before resubmitting inquiries.
There has never been a better time to introduce new players to HeroClix! Many stores have already signed up for Sidekick Night Events and if your store is interested, please check with Alliance in North America or your local distributor. Any store may get one kit, and we’ve heard from many that they’re excited to introduce new players to the easier to learn, streamlined ruleset.
This has been a long time coming, and we’re excited for everyone to finally get a chance to see the new rules in totality. These are the most complete rules we’ve ever had, but HeroClix is a big game and we know questions will still arise, and we’re ready to answer. We are truly inspired by the team effort the community has shown to bring these new rules to everyone. Thank you to all of you– it is your passion and excitement for the game of HeroClix has kept the game going strong after 15 years!
